You couldn't help but accuse Peter of spending too much time with Gwen.

Perhaps it was your declining self-esteem or lingering fear, but seeing the two spend more time together made you feel sick to your stomach. Your thoughts are overwhelmed with nothing but the deep worry of Peter's feelings drifting away from you.

You were disappointed because you were continuously having to cancel plans when Gwen requested something, or because Peter had to leave in the middle of you two hanging out because Gwen called.

You just had the feeling that your boyfriend wasn't your boyfriend anymore.

You know, hating Gwen was pretty petty, given that the two were already great friends before you ever asked Peter out on your first date.

So you let the problem fester for a few months, pushing aside the disappointment and constant nights where you would sit alone in your room and forget you were in a relationship and still the man would climb from your bedroom window into your room late at night only for you to instantly turn him away in defense of your feelings being all over the place.

You didn't want to talk about it because you were afraid of coming across as a crazy girlfriend, you know the ones that would motor everything their partners did. Wouldn't let them even talk to other women, you didn't want to seem crazy, you just wanted to be with your fucking boyfriend.

You've always been fond of Peter. You loved his smile, adored the quirky way he talked about the things he was passionate about.

You simply like being around him and the energy he appeared to exude when he was around you, or so you believed. Everything simply sorts of altered when the change happened, whether it was months into your relationship or just around the year mark.

You began to notice Peter's changes; certainly, he was a superhero, but it felt like he had changed mentally, dragging himself around more and devoting less time to your relationship.

It appeared like he liked the concept of you more than being with you, almost as if he remembered you now and then.

Many times, your friends might advise you to stop your relationship with him. They would constantly stare at you as if you were the saddest thing in the world when you brought up Peter in conversation.

Almost as if they wanted to say something but couldn't because they knew it would shatter the last of your hope for your relationship.

You tried too many times to talk it out, but Peter seemed to drift away from discussions and hanging out with you, always blaming it on his responsibilities as Spiderman and having to cope with school.

So you clung to that tiny thread that kept your sanity together into a lovely little heart. "I say you just stop, like not the silence treatment, but just back away and watch how long it takes him to recognize that you're not putting up with that garbage anymore."

Sally Avril was the last person you expected to make friends with, and you practically pinch yourself when she agreed to eat lunch with you the day Peter deserted you for a "spiderman thing" after school.

Sally had been the weight that kept you down since the day she found you struggling to wipe the smeared runny eyeliner off your face in the girl's washroom.

When you brought up your Peter difficulties, the woman never complained. Unlike your previous set of friends, who seemed to kick you to the curb, they realized you were still madly in love with him.

After having had enough of watching you destroy yourself for a boy, they decided to cut you off completely, which just added to your many difficulties that seemed to be worse by dating Peter Parker.

You wanted to admit how terrible your life had become, but you hadn't opened the worm packet yet "Make him understand how much time and effort you put into the relationship to make it work. That's what I had to do with Flash the next day to get him to crawl back to me."

One thing Sally had forgotten about her advice, which you seemed to take, was that Flash was an airheaded jock who only thought about boobies and sports.

Not Peter Parker, the superhuman teenager who seemed to have mastered the ability to talk his way out of everything.

You despise yourself for surrendering to Peter's false promises, constantly vowing to spend more time together but never making the effort to do anything.

You let Peter string you along once more, ignoring your emotions. You put an end to your attempts, stopped messaging and contacting him first, and didn't bother waiting for him to walk you home after school.

Instead catching a ride with Sally, you made sure Peter saw you exit Flash's car when you got to school. All week, the "not-silent-treatment-silent-treatment" looked to be working in your favor, as you purposely ignored the man when he attempted to speak to you in class.

You were well aware of Peter's habit of calling you out of the blue. allowing your phone to ring whenever he called late at night, and locking your window and closing your blinds every night as an additional "fuck you."

It was a small ploy, that nearly got you through the month until Peter approached you. Dragging your shoulder into an empty classroom, and slammed the door shut behind you, blocking the exit with his taller body.

"So, are you going to speak with me? should I ask why Sally Avril seems to know more about why my girlfriend suddenly ignores me and spends out with a bunch of numb-brained popular jockeys?"

The insult should have made you feel more offended. The male, no doubt, was referring to Flash, who you didn't want to accept was getting closer to being named your friend than you expected.

"I'm not sure. Perhaps you should ask Gwen. Because you appear to be joined at the hip, she may be aware of what is going on."

Peter exhaled a forceful sneer as he gazed at you, his genuine displeasure flowing over his features.

It was a staring contest as Peter fidgeted, placing his bottom lip between his teeth and squinting at you, as he did whenever he was irritated. "Are you going to blame Gwen for a week of you ignoring me?" When it was your turn to glare, you crossed your hands over your chest so he couldn't see how shaky your hands were.

"I'm sorry, maybe if you paid attention to someone other than yourself and someone who isn't even your girlfriend, you'd realize that this is all due to you."

You knew you pleaded for this moment for months, just the chance to get everything off your chest, yet your voice quivered and your eyes began to sting, but Peter showed no sign of wanting to back down; his pride was too great.

"Okay, I'm here. Say whatever you want. Can you do that at least once?" You swallowed a lump in your throat and let out a loud chuckle, amused by the absurdity of his wishes. "What gives you the impression that I even want to talk to you anymore, Peter?"

"Because, well, you're my girlfriend, and I love you. It hurts to watch you choose to talk to someone who has made my entire life a living nightmare while ignoring me as if I don't exist."

Peter reached his arm up, catching you off guard as your body seemed to react on its own, withdrawing as your hands swiftly covered your chest.

The male abruptly came to a halt, and the room fell silent as you two seemed to comprehend what had just happened. "Did you think I was-"

"I have to get going, Peter; I have class."
