I ran into my school's parking lot, dying to get home. Mom opened up the car door. "Don't rush sweetheart, you could trip and get hurt!" She warned lightly. "But mom! The mail comes in today!" I swipe a piece of hair behind my ear. "Alright, get in the car." She sighed, tired of hearing this conversation every day for the last week.
I grinned and buckled myself in. Tapping my feet on the floor of the car, nervous butterflies flew around my stomach.
She parked the car in front of our local post office. "Go and see if it's their El." She said, taking out her phone. I took our mail box key and went inside. I unlocked the mailbox and closed my eyes.
I grabbed the big bundle of mail and leafed through it. It wasn't there. I grumbled, disappointed when I stepped on something. I stepped off it and picked it. There it was.
The cream-coloured envelope with the crest of Windsor Preparatory. I cheered and yelled my happiness, causing people to stare. I quieted down and ran to the car. I unlocked the door and clambered inside. "Mom, Mom, Mom it's here!" I yelled loudly. She cupped her ears. "Sh! That's good sweetheart, open it!"
I took the pocket knife we kept in the car and sliced open the envelope. I pulled out the thick, very official looking folded document. I unfolded it, my nerves going on overdrive. My hair got frizzy, just thinking of how nice it would be to go back there. I opened the piece of paper and read the whole document, my heart thumping a mile per minute.
Dear Ms.Hastings
It was a pleasure to receive your application. We have taken a very long time to consider each and every application that was sent in. As you have been at Windsor before your mother pulled you out, It was to ignore your academic success while you were with us. With that being said, your riding is fantastic.
After reviewing more then 500 applications, it is with great honour, I present to you, a spot at Windsor Preparatory. Congratulations, you are a student at Windsor Preparatory. You are expected to arrive by Friday, no later. Horses are welcome and please see the attached file, regarding your horses' placement in the stable, your class schedule, your roommate and dorm hall.

I screamed. "Mom, Mom, I did it! I'm in." I squealed. Mom clapped her hands together and hugged me. "Oh, I'm so proud of you hun!" she exclaimed. I opened the other paper and scanned it.

Mom drove me home and I ran up to my room, excited to start packing. I grabbed cardboard boxes and my numerous duffle bags. Time for organization. I unzipped one duffle bag and empitied out the drawer containing my riding gear. I folded up my countless pair of practice breeches and placed them in the duffle bag along with my show breeches.
I placed my riding polos ontop of that, put in my hairnets, chokers, show jackets and show shirts. One duffle bag done, I unzipped the 2 one and packed my everyday shirts neatly into the bag. The next one was pants and skirts. The fourth one contained my hoodies, sweaters and jackets. In the next one, I packed full of dresses. With all my duffel bags done, I moved into boxes. In the first box, I packed my everyday shoes.
In the second box is where I packed my show boots and practice riding boots, along with my lace-up paddock boots and my velvet show helmet in it's black case.
In the third one, I placed various nicknaks. In the fourth and final box, I packed up my mint green bed set, along with my mint-green to light green ombre comforter. I was done packing. I skipped downstairs to see my mom preparing dinner. "Hey mom! I was wondering, can we go to Windsor tomorrow? It's Wednesday today, so we have to be there by Friday anyways." I asked nicely as I helped set the table.
"I don't see why not. I called your school and told them and I also called your stable and they said Elle will be prepped for tomorrow and ready for us. " She replied.
"Great! Thanks mom!" I smiled.
As I was eating dinner, it finally sunk in.
I, Eleanor Hastings was going back to Windsor Preparatory.
