To say that Jungkook has been looking forward to the Christmas holidays is an understatement.

After the busy year they have had, Jungkook wants nothing more than to just chill and spend time with Taehyung, the timing of their annual holidays really couldn't be more perfect.

Every year they both take 2 weeks off at the same time, without exception, and it's a much needed break to chill and reconnect because as much as they prioritise their time together during the year, with two busy, successful careers, it's a challenge.

Over the years they've been together, this break has become almost sacred, a time where all their attention – to the point of over-indulgence- is on each other. Last year, this evolved into a Christmas they will never forget.

And here they are again. It's time for peace, quiet, love... sex. Taehyung.

"I'm home!" Jungkook calls. He closes the door with a kick, puffing in his winter gear after struggling with a billion plastic grocery bags in his hands. He was sent out with a list as long as his arm while Taehyung stayed behind to decorate the Christmas tree in secret which he does every year – it's his thing and Jungkook is happy to indulge him.

At least now, with the food that he has brought back, they are ready to seal the doors and shut away the outside world.

Jungkook can already hear the soft jazz playing in the living room, a gentle deep voice humming along, catching a word here and there. The smells are so warm, enriched by nostalgia: mulled wine, roast dinner, cinnamon and gingerbread-scented candles. He's so ready to dive into that world with his man.

Jungkook puffs at the long, dark strands of hair in his eyes while he undresses. He kicks off his big boots and throws his thick, puffy coat on top of them, leaving him in only a soft tee and worn jeans. Jungkook already knows from the way the gear lands, bundling on the floor, that Taehyung is going to complain and nag at him to put them away. Taehyung always thinks he's being intimidating when he does it but Jungkook thinks it's cute, he sometimes even leaves the stuff there just to see that adorable, little pout on those gorgeous lips.

In the past, Jungkook would never have guessed that something so little – that could quite easily be annoying– would become yet another way of showing affection. Care. Just one of the many, little things that after a decade together, colour their every move and word with warmth.

"Can I come in?" Jungkook asks from the short corridor where he stops to wait for an answer without looking in toward the open plan living and kitchen area.

Their apartment is small but perfect, they don't need more space, especially since they like to do things together most of the time.

Usually, Taehyung likes to show off his interior decorator's flare by redecorating the flat almost every year, changing the colours of the walls, sometimes even the sofa. But this year having been so busy, dove grey is still the main colour scheme, their beloved, bright red couch remains the biggest burst of colour in the furnishings of the room. The fluffiest grey carpet on the floor softens the space.

Taehyung loves Christmas, it's always so special. For him it's fun and relaxing and he loves to decorate their little space in unique and unusual ways. He loves Jungkook even more for letting him go overboard with it.
