DEAR BEST FRIEND,

Dear Best Friend,

Remember that time when I told you I loved you? You thought I was joking and laughed it off easily. But really, it took me all the courage I have to confess, but I'm glad you never took it seriously. I didn't that time. I just wanted to get it off my chest. Because you make me feel crazy, Ochaco, truly.

And I wanted to say those exact words when I know that you're ready to listen to me and look at me the same way I do you. I wanted to say "I Love You" when I'm sure I won't die. Too bad I am.

So here is me saying it...

I love you, Ochaco.

And I'm so sorry for that.

Tick. Tock.

The clock's ticking filled the silence that deafened the ears inside the room.

Tick. Tock.

They had plans. They had somewhere to go, places to be and people to see again after weeks of being buried underneath their weighing schedules. They have work to finish and sleep to complete-

Tick. Tock.

But they were willing to wait another second if it means that they could see their classmate again.

It's been days, yes. Days without any sign of you being alive. Days without any news about your situation- your health. They deserve to know-

Especially her.

Tick... Tock-

"Sensei!" Someone cried out, voice raspy from refusing to talk for hours. His eyes stung with pain, lip quivering and shoulders shaking, seeing their sensei who was in a better shape than he was when he got the news, but still bad in the eyes of his own students, whose eyes were filled with tears as their breath hitched at the words that escaped his lips.

Her eyes shone with hope, and she clutched the letter that crumpled slightly at the tightness of her hold. Come on, please please please-

"You can come inside but-"

Tick... Tock...

Aizawa stopped himself short when one of his students rushed past him in a brown blur, not having the heart to turn around to see the dread this that replaced the hope that now clouded her eyes.

"... She's recovering." he assures, but it feels so empty. "After the battle, doctors concluded that she won't be waking up anytime soon- due to the severity of her injuries, it seems unlikely that she'll be up in a few weeks."

No...

She denied it, shakily nearing your bed as continuous beeps rang in her ear. Your chest heaved up and down, slow- the sight of you covered in bandages and tubes made her sick in her stomach, and just seeing you remain in the same state under the blaring sunlight sent dread down the deepest pit of her stomach.

No no nonono-

"Two shots," Aizawa started by the door, right behind the brunette as he filled in his students about their classmate, "one near the heart, one on her arm-"

"Y/n!" he yelled, the debris scrapping his arm as Midoriya watch the way you grit your teeth in pain, the shots fired towards you piercing inside your arm and chest. The most painful and draining feeling spread throughout your entire core, and you felt your body go weaker and weaker...

"Move!" You growled, stepping evading the spikes that were created to pierce you-

"Pierced three times, one on her right shoulder and the other two on her left foot and leg-"

-But because of the draining feeling, you faltered, and two spikes managed to pierce your left foot and leg.

You could only bite back a scream, the pain rushing back tenfold.

But you still rushed towards Kai, and he stared at you with indifference, looking back and forth at you and Mirio- but he still smirked once he managed to hit you again...

-trying to save Eri.

"-And her spinal cord was crushed due to the... fall."

"Deku!" you cried, pushing Eri towards him and you felt a sense of relief when he caught her in his arms. Tears streaked down your cheeks, creating waterfalls as you felt yourself fall.

Feeling lighter...

And lighter-

BOOM!

Fuck, you cursed, feeling your back crack at the fall. It was a great height- and you wished you had your quirk to heal.

But with two bullets planted inside, stopping you, you could only lay there, motionless...

Hoping that your death was as quick as Nighteye had said.

"The chances of her waking up are big. Yet her chances of walking is... slim, but not a total zero." Aizawa sighed, placing a hand on his face as he remembered his colleagues' struggles of grasping your situation. He felt panging guilt eating him away, you're his responsibility... And he failed to help you. "That's all I can give you, kids... Don't kick yourselves too hard."

He was referring to the students that were involve in hero studies.

But how can they, when in some, twisted way-

They were the reason you're on your deathbed?
