"That was great" Abbie chirped as we sat down at a table on the other side of the cafeteria. I slammed my Dr.Pepper down, still trying to hide my anger, but I think I did it a little bit to hard because they all stopped talking. Abbie watched me awkwardly whilst Misha tried to look anywhere but me. Adam cleared his throat and tapped his fingers on the table. I shuffled in my seat as Jamie scanned the others faces before eventually turning to face me. "Kayleigh you need to help us out next time, I wasn't impressed with that. " He sighed like he didn't want to have to say anything else. "If you don't start doing stuff to help then...we might have to reconsider your place in the group. " Inside my heart sped up and the echo of it enveloped my ears. As much as I hated what these guys did, I still loved them and we looked out for each other. I'd been friends with Misha since we were kids. She was definitely my closest mate, but now she seemed more interested in her nails than having the courage to stand up to Jamie. Or maybe she agreed with him.

I looked at the others for support, but Abbie was plaiting her hair and Adam had gotten his basketball out and was trying to spin it on his finger. Reluctantly,  I turned to Jamie, but not before mentally flipping off the other three. "I'm sorry" I lied. " I just couldn't think of anything funny to say." My face was in close proximity with Jamies and I knew he liked me, so I gave him my saddest look. I could see him arguing with himself and it seemed to do the trick because he rubbed my back and said "Ok just don't let it happen again." "I won't" I replied sounding more confident than I felt. Whether I would say anything next time,  I don't know.

The lesson bell rang and almost in sync around 200 chairs screeched as everyone got up to go to their lessons. We all rose from our table and made our way to the back of the stampede that was trying to shove its way through the small doors. Storm was standing slightly away from the crowd waiting for everybody to leave. As we passed him, Jamie shoved Storm with his shoulder and I looked back quickly to see his reaction. His face was cold with hatred as he looked at Jamie. Storm must have sense I turned around because his eyes met mine. They seemed to soften slightly as they stared into me. My legs started to feel weak for no reason. Confused, I whipped my head back round,  a little too fast, and hurt my neck. " owww" I moaned as I rubbed it and tried to keep my head still waiting for the pain to subside. "Are you ok?" Jamie asked me, worried. "Yeah I'm fine" I replied as my neck eased, "just moved too fast." Jamie turned around to see what I could've been looking at and must have seen Storm because I saw him shoot a death glare and felt him put a hand on my back. I turned, slowly this time, and just caught a glimpse of Storm before we were pushed out into the corridoor.
