Chapter 7: CLASS REP AND RESCUE TRAINING BEGINS

The scene begins with everyone making their way to school only to get swarmed by reporters. It wasn't uncommon for the media to be near the school grounds, but ever since word got out that All Might himself was teaching here, reporters made like vultures to try and get the scoop. Once the students made it to class, Aizawa got to teaching.

Aizawa: decent work on yesterday's combat training, everyone. I saw the video feeds and went over each of your team's results. Bakugo. You're talented. So don't sulk like a child about your loss, okay?

Katsuki: yeah, whatever.

Aizawa: and Midoriya. I see the only way you won the match was by messing up your arm again. Work harder. And don't give me the excuse that you don't have control over your quirk. That line's already getting old. You can't keep breaking your body while training here. But your quirk will be really useful if you can get a handle on it. So show a little urgency, huh?

Izuku: right.

Aizawa: (to everyone) let's get down to business. Our first task will decide your future.

Students: (all on edge) is it another quirk test?

Aizawa: you all need to pick a class representative.

Students: (relieved) oh, good. Just normal school stuff!

Kirishima: pick me, guys! I wanna be class rep!

Kaminari: I'll take it.

Jiro: yeah, you're gonna need me.

Aoyama: someone with style would be best.

Mina: I'm, like, totally the right pick!

Arcturus's Voice: in a normal classroom, a representative's duties would just be a bunch of extra work. But here in the hero course, there's more to it. It's a way to get noticed by agencies and prove you can lead a team like a real pro.

People were pulling up hands, but Wanda noticed Arc wasn't even trying.

Wanda: you're not gonna try for rep, Arc?

Arcturus: hell no. Not after my experience in middle school. I mean, the amount of work, people coming with complaints, being the one who really had to plan for everything. It's a nightmare.

Wanda: you did a good job, though.

Iida: silence, everyone, please! (Everyone stops) the class representative's duty is to lead others. That's not just something anyone can do. You must first have the trust of every student in the classroom. Therefore, the most logical way to fill this position is democratically. We will hold an election to choose our leader!

Students: it's pretty obvious you want us to vote for you.

Arcturus: (to himself) as long as I don't get it.

Kaminari: is this really the best idea?

Tsuyu: we've only known each other a few days, how do we know who we can trust?

Kirishima: besides, everyone'll just vote for themselves.

Iida: most people will. But that means whoever doesn't receive multiple votes must truly be the most suitable person for the job. (To Aizawa) it's the best way, right, sir?

Aizawa: (zips up in his sleeping bag) do what you want, just decide before my nap's over. (Falls over asleep)

Iida: thank you for your trust!

Wanda: I think he's just using this as an excuse to sleep.

Everyone casted their votes with most having vote themselves, but the top ones were Momo with 3, Izuku with 4, and Arcturus crushing it with 10.
