I followed behind in silence as the kid moved through the streets. Much to my amusement, the boy was moving towards the border of the noble district not far from the apartment. I followed without letting this child know that I was following him. Not too long later, he reached a hole in a wall in a broken-looking house in an alleyway, and I slowly entered behind him.

I heard little feet pattering around upstairs, and soon I some larger steps, and I made my way without making a noise following the sound of children's feet moving around. I moved so quietly that unless someone was looking directly at me, there was no betraying sound coming from me. I found the next hole the kids were hiding in and stopped myself as I heard them start to talk.

"What did you find, Jay?" A boy asked, his voice sounding older than the kid that I found following me.

"Boss!" I heard the kid I captured and released, "I don't know who you had me follow, but they caught me. She is a scary boss. I had trouble even holding my bladder near her." The boy said.

"Where was she going?" The older boy asked, his voice trying to sound intimidating.

"Somewhere towards the slums. Not sure, but she left the warehouse, as you told me she would, then started to move. Then suddenly found me as we were heading toward the slums." The boy said.

"The Slums? Why would she be headed in that direction?" The older boy said, not expecting an answer. "Were you followed?" He suddenly asked.

"No way someone followed me, boss. You know how slippery I am in the city!" The boy named Jonny replied in denial.

I wanted to chuckle since I didn't even know he was trying to shake me off. I had followed others and shook off some of the best in the world. This kid is attempting to do so and never even reached my notice.

"Good, I will talk to the man that gave us the gold. I want you there again tomorrow. Don't get caught this time." The older boy finished.

I heard the patter of feet again and silently moved out of the broken wall. I jumped up to the roof, swung up easily, and watched the boy I caught run out. A couple of seconds later, an older boy ran out and looked around. I watched him for a couple of moments before he started walking down the street. I was torn between picking this boy up or following him. I quickly opted for the latter, moved stealthily behind him, and quickly jumped onto the roof at some points.

I moved and glided through the city till the boy arrived at a place I didn't recognize. Instead of confronting him or doing anything else, I watched as the boy stood outside the house or business that wasn't marked. He just stood there loitering for a time despite how much of a rush he had looked in before. I watched and felt like maybe I should have picked him up instead when it finally happened.

An older man came up to the boy, half glared at him, and stood beside him. Out in the open was pretty ballsy, in my opinion, and I moved closer. Eavesdropping was an art of its own, and for the first time, I truly loved my ancestry as a Phantom Tiger-kin as I could hear what they were saying from much farther away than in my old life.

"What is it?" The older man asked.

"My boy was picked up by the woman you asked us to follow." The boy said, his voice fearful. "The woman was traveling toward the Slums when she picked up my runner."

"What?" The man said, "You came here after knowing your boy was found?" The man asked, but it was more of a demand.

"My boy has never been followed, and some Tiger-kin will not be able to. My boy is too slippery, and he wouldn't fuck up after being caught. He would do his best to ensure he wasn't followed," The boy said; his fear-filled tone made me more than aware of how much he feared the man he was talking to.
