Tanjiro was back at the butterfly mansion after another intense mission. He was laying in bed. Shinobu opened the door to walk in. "Hey Tanjiro can you investigate the railways? I don't have time to see for myself and can you tell the other two boys to come too." Shinobu said. "Is there another demon?" Tanjiro asked. "No, but it's something even more peculiar. There's been rumors in news papers about a ghost haunting the railways that fits Kyojuro Rengoku's description. I want you and the boys to see if it's true or not." Shinobu continued. I must put Master Rengoku's soul at peace. Tanjiro replied "I'll do it I'll put his soul at peace."
The boys arrived to the train station with no smiles on their faces. "Where's bug eyes?" Inoske asked looking around. "We probably won't see him at the station if it really is true." Tanjiro replied. Once it was time to enter the train the boys slowly entered Tanjiro could smell a faint scent of Rengoku. The train was empty, but they felt as if they were being watched by something. Zenitsu kept nervously looking around and Inoske kept looking under the seats by crawling on the floor.
"There's something here, but why can't I find it?" Inoske asked. Inoske even started sniffing the floor. "There's something here, but I don't think it's bug eyes." Inoske continued. Tanjiro said "He's a spirit now so you won't be able to find him by doing that." Tanjiro remembered the time he unknowingly talked to ghosts when he was trying to break the bolder. After spending time looking through the cars for any sign of Rengoku they met a priest.
The priest seemed to be investigating too. "Do you young men know of a person named Kyojuro Rengoku?" The priest ask. "Well, yes we were hoping that we could put his soul at peace." Tanjiro replied. "If that's so then I need you three to help me put him at peace. He made a terrible mistake on his way in the afterlife." The priest spoke.
Out of the briefcase he pulled out a Ouija board. They sat on the floor. The boys watched carefully. "What is this some boring board game! I want to see bug eyes not play some game!" Inoske shouted. "Calm down Inoske. We'll figure out what he's trying to do here." Tanjiro said. Zenitsu started screaming "Oh my gosh! We're using an Ouija board! We're going to get haunted by a ghost!" Tanjiro told Zenitsu to calm down as well.
The board piece started moving on its own. It slowly moved to each letter of Kyojuro Rengoku. "Mind telling us what's bothering you?" The priest asked. The piece moved to "A" then "k" then "a" again, it went all the way to "z" just to go back over to "a".
"How strange, I've never seen this happen before. He said 'Akaza' on the board. I wonder what he's trying to say?" The priest pondered out loud. Tanjiro had flashbacks to the striped demon. "Wasn't that demon's name Akaza. I wonder if he holds a grudge against him." Tanjiro pondered.
The priest then asked "Do you think you're dead?" The piece moved to "no". "Is there anything you want right now?" The piece moved to "yes"
"What do you want right now?"
The piece moved over to "t" ... "a"... "s" ... "t"... "y"... it went over to space then to "t" ... "i" ... "m" ... "e". "He says he wants 'tasty time'." The priest spoke as Tanjiro was a bit distracted by Inoske's and Zenitsu's behavior. "Well, that sure sounds like him." Tanjiro commented.
The priest moved the piece to "goodbye" the priest sighed then said "I think I know what needs to happen to put him at peace. It has something to do with whatever this 'Akaza' is. As long as that is bothering him I'm afraid he won't go to the afterlife. If you know what that is please solve it for him."
"I will I think I know what needs to be done." Tanjiro said. Then the boys left.
