victory was theirs.

they watched with wide eyes and bated breath as the two halves of zenon's body crashed to the floor, scared to let their guard down in case he suddenly reanimated once more.

"all three members of the dark triad have been defeated..." elle whispered moving to yuno's side, taking his face in her hands, and giving him a once over for any serious injuries.

"yes but... why can I still feel dark magic? did we not stop the advent of qliphoth?" yuno asked, kissing elle's palm before taking her hand in his own.

"We should find nacht," elle nodded toward the exit. they begin to walk through the now-destroyed castle, stepping over rubble as they felt out for nacht's mana. they walked until they feel the familiar mana of their comrades. they gave each other a look and immediately rushed forward hand in hand until they reached their friends.

they arrived in time to watch the black bulls defeat the final demon, the human vessel lucifero had jumped to after dante was defeated. there was a moment of silence before everyone cheered and rushed forward to the captains.

but just as always, their happiness never lasted long.

"I applaud you for all your hard work human. the gate to the second layer of the underworld... has opened!" a booming voice called out from the crater the black bulls had created with their magic. "now that two layers are open... all the devils on the first and second levels can be possessed through the manifestation of I, lucifero!"

there was a series of shouts before elle ran to the centre of the congregated mages and casted her mana regeneration spell, charmy doing the same as all the clover mages glow a faint gold.

"lucifero has become one with the Qliphoth and is manifesting through possession!" nacht shouted to the group, his little devils creating additional armour around his body and face.

'that makes yami and william the core of lucifero's possession' elle thought, her eyes widening in realisation as people rush around her.

"if we can save the two captains we can stop lucifero's manifestations," nacht said as he approached the young queen, clearly having thought the same as her. the two of them watch as the black bulls piled into their moving headquarters, controlled by henry.

"they seem to have a plan" elle commented, bracing herself as the ground shook when the bull-shaped building began to move.

"they seem to have greatly improved within the 6-month training period. especially asta and noelle" nacht nodded.

"do you think they'll be able to save the day?"

"most certainly"

elle nodded, his confirmation was all she needed to begin her plan. she would leave most of the combat to asta and the bulls as she thought of a way to help everyone fighting, both inside and outside the castle. her eyes naturally searched for yuno in the crowd, looking through the swarm of panicked mages with nacht eyeing her curiously.

before she could find him, a dark light slashed through the area around them. nacht chuckled breathlessly as the mass forming into the skies was cut in half, william and yami falling unconscious through the air.

"It's going to crush us!" someone yells, panicked screams followed.

there were yells of panic as the sides of the masses fell down, threatening to crush everyone in sight. elle shot up with a beam of golden light as fast as humanely possible, pausing the masses of demon magic in time to prevent the multitude of deaths that would've occurred had the magic fallen to the ground.
