After Shoto helped me out that day, we were quick to become friends. Even though the two of us couldn't be even more different. I loved being around him. My first best friends that didn't want me just for attention.
Months had passed since then and Shoto and I always met after school or whenever we could. My relationship with Kachan hadn't changed at all, a few glances at each other sometimes but other than that nothing.
The worst part was the burn on my wrist got worst to the point it travelled past my elbow. Only Shoto knew about the situation, and he told me many times to go to the doctors, but what can they do to help control my quirk. Only going to hero school would help it, but my patience was slowly running thin.
It was another month before the entrance exam, I wanted to get the pain to stop now.
The nights it kept me awake. The time I almost collapsed in the hallway before making my way to a janitor closet. The missing classes and gaining more detention. Everything was going to hell, but no-one but myself could stop it.
But how could I do it.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
"Ayumi-"
"How many time have I told you to call me Yumi. You're my best friend." I say, slight aggravation because of the two-hour detention I had gone through after accidentally ditching Mrs lesson.
"Well, if we're best friends then, why don't you tell me your last name."
"God question. Why don't you tell me yours first." I respond. Getting Shoto to shut up for a moment.
"It's personal."
"Personal? What you some hotshot rich boy from a hero family or something. To be honest I wouldn't be surprised. With your ice quirk your practically invincible Shoto."
"It's complicated."
"Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh."
"Sorry."
Sighing. I stopped walking and turned towards Shoto.
"You don't need to apologise. Come on why don't we get some Takoyaki."
"I'd love that."
"Good, cause I haven't had Takoyaki in a lonnnnggg time and I'm really craving it right now."
"And after that we'll do some training together."
"UGHHHHH."
"Ayumi. You can't keep slacking off if you want to get into UA. The entrance exam's right around the corner."
"I know but you're soooooo harsh on me when training."
"Well, just think of it as a real fight against some crazy villain, it-"
"To prepare me for future battles I have against villains, Blah, blah, blahhh."
"See you do understand."
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
After we brought the Takoyaki, I was rudely interrupted by Shoto telling me, I couldn't eat it yet. He told me that since we were going to be training, I would get stomach cramps if I ate it now.
Then he took it away from me.
And run off.
Making me run after him all the way to the park to get it back while Shoto was running from me.
'How the fuck is he so fit- WAIT NO I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING NOT IN THAT WAY. We've been sprinting -well I've been sprinting for nearly 15 minutes, and he doesn't even look like he's even sweating.'
