Rachel's POV

How dare he! I am the most popular girl in this grade! I mean, what does he want? I've done everything for that douche. I know I broke up with him twice but he's perfect. I think he likes that skank Zoe. Whatever, I have after school activities to go to. I walk into the girl's locker room and get changed into my cheer uniform. I've been the captain of the cheer squad since I was in sixth grade. If I don't get it this year I will be so pissed. All of a sudden my phone beeps with a text. I sighed and yanked my platinum blonde hair into a tight bun. I grabbed my phone and checked the text. Good luck at tryouts babe, I'm waiting for you on the bleachers. "Ugh Jason you are so clingy" I muttered as I typed back. Thanks babe see you there. I clicked off my phone, set it in my bag and walked out to the tryout field. I spotted Jason on the benches and waved. One of the cheerleaders was up on the benches talking to someone with purple and blue hair. The only person at this school with two colors in their hair that aren't brown and blonde would be Zoe. Why would a cheerleader be talking to her? She isn't anything special to anyone. Ugh, she's getting up and heading for the coach. Why is the coach nodding so excitedly? Whatever, it's my time to shine and become captain. I went through my routine smoothly and cleanly. I knew that I had scored the place as captain. It was the perfect start to my first year of high school. As soon as I finished trying out I stopped watching the others. I couldn't even bring myself to think that I wouldn't make captain. I had to remain positive on this. The assistant coach walked over to the stands and posted the results. I went straight to look at who got captain. I smiled and knew I had got it. When I scanned the list I saw the word team captain: Zoe. I shrieked loudly. "THAT IS NOT FAIR! I DESERVE THAT SPOT NOT HER!" I started thrashing around and screaming. The assistant coach grabbed me and hauled me off the field and told me that I was kicked off the team for good. I ran to my gray corvette and drove home crying my eyes out. Today had been horrible and Zoe getting cheer captain AND Kyle flirting with her made me want to cry. I walked into my house and ran to my room and laid down and sobbed for hours.
