2008, Lauren's POV

One of my mom's friends was over, and she brought her kids. Lisa was talking with the blonde one, and almost everyone else was hanging out with the black haired one.

Well, except me. I chose to hang out with the littlest one because he looked a bit lonely. Turns out his name is Toby, and his brothers are in a band. How strange, so are my sisters and I. Sorta.

"Your sister over there seems to like Connor a bit," he told me, pointing to Lisa and Blondie. So his name is Connor. "What's her name again?"

"Lisa," I replied.

"Lisa," he repeated. "Lisa and Connor. Connor and Lisa."

I nudged him before saying, "Don't even think about it."

"Come on, they'd be cute together."

"Well..." I have to admit they would look cute.

"See?" he said before nudging me back.

"Well, how do you know if she likes him or not?"

"Just the way she looks at him. It's so obvious."

"You know, you can't just always assume things."

"You have a point, but the thought of them together is still nice."

Lisa McDonough...Doesn't sound half bad. Okay, he's also right on that.

"So are we gonna do something or just talk?" he asked.

"Kids!" my mom shouted. "Lunch!"

Perfect timing.

As we were walking (well, running) inside, I heard someone whisper in my ear, "By the way, you look really pretty today."

"Thanks, stranger," I replied.

"So what's for lunch?" Lisa asked as we were all walking in.

"I ordered pizza," Connor replied.

"Which we had to pay for," both our mom and Mrs. McDonough finished at the same time.

"Alright, let's eat!" Black Beauty said before attempting to grab a slice.

"Hold up, Riley!" Christie said, pulling him back. "We need to pray."

"Oh right," the boy, Riley, replied. How can you forget to pray before a meal?

"In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen," we all said, making the Sign of the Cross.

Christie led the prayer. "Lord, we ask that you bless this food to our bodies, and that we will enjoy this pizza. And all God's people said,"

"Amen." we all spoke.

After we did the Sign of the Cross again, Riley shouted, "I call first dibs!"

"Did you really need to shout?" I asked him loudly. And yes, there is a difference.

"No, but I just wanted to," he replied with a sly smile.

When he opened the box, I bumped him away and cut myself a slice of pepperoni.

"Just saying, if you keep on yelling like that, you might lose your voice," I told Riley before walking up to my room.

When I closed the door, I went straight to my bed, ate my pizza, and kept thinking, Who called me pretty earlier?
