Part one:
Jefferson's POV
Madison and I are sitting outside, conversating with each other. I lift up my head to face the sky, my face basking in the sun. James asks me a question but I just hum in response. I'm having a calming moment. He doesn't speak anymore. I hear something rustling in my hedges and I open my eyes, looking that way. I see Burr running up to us, "Guys! I have the paper!" I smile, " Bring it here, Aaron!"
He stands in front of us, Jemmy not realizing what's going on. "Adams won the election. Jefferson is the runner up, making him the vice president." I smile more. "No more Mr. Nice President~" I coo to myself. Aaron looks shocked, "What is it, A?" "Adams FIRES Hamilton! Privately calls him "Creole Bastard" in his taunts," he reads. My eyes widen, "Say whaaaaaaaaaaat???" Burr shakes his head, "Hamilton publishes his response; 'Sit down John you fat mother f--'" Maddy cuts in, "He's out of control! This is great!" He looks to me, "He's out of power, holds no office, and he just destroyed President John Adams! The only other significant member of his party." I shake my head and sigh, "He's a host unto himself, Jemmy. As long as he can hold a pen he's a threat." I think for a moment before finishing, "Let's let him know what we know." They both smile and nod. I look down and smirk, 'Oh this is gonna be fun~'
A few days later we found ourselves Hamilton's on door step. I knock, the other two standing behind me. He opens the door and blinks at us, confused when he speaks, "Mr. Vice President, Mr. Madison, Senator Burr, what is this???" He chuckles nervously. "Heyyyy, you guys?" he questions as we back him into his house."Bring us to your office, Hamilton." "Why should I?" he questions. Burr smiles at him, "We have to talk." He nods and brings us to the smaller room. I sigh, "Hamilton... We have the check stubs from different accounts." Madison follows, "Almost a thousand dollars in different amounts..."
"Are my answers to your satisfaction?!" He pants, my man just couldn't stop talking... "My god??" I say, shocked and shrug in a very active way. Madison shook his head in disapproval, "Gentlemen, let's go." Hamilton yelled to us as we began to leave, "So???" I turn to him, "The people won't know what we know." Me and Madison walk out, I look back to make sure Burr is behind me. He is not. Madison looks back to me, "You coming?" I shake my head, "Go on, I'll be there soon." He nods
I put my ear to the door, hearing Aaron threaten the short man, "Alexander... rumors only grow. And we both know what we know..." DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN. Aaron's being a BITCH. I chuckle to myself as I hide in the shadows, making sure Burr doesn't see me as he leaves. I watch him until he's out of the house and I put my ear back to the door. I stay for a few minutes and hear nothing, just as I'm about to leave, I do. A tiny noise can be heard through the door. I press myself closer to the door and then there is a loud crash. Then a bang. I gasp, worried. 'Is Alex okay??' I think. I sit there, arguing with myself. Should I go in... or no?
I crack the door open and poke my head in, on my hands and knees now. I see him shove things off of his desk onto the floor. He drops down onto the floor, even though there are glass shards everywhere. He then buries his face in his hands as he sobs loudly. Alexander cries?? Honestly, I thought he was incapable of emotion. I'm just kidding... His hands snake up to his hair, which was draping across his face. He pulls on it and a louder sob erupts from his lips. I stand up and push the door open all the way. I walk in, "Alex." He jumps and looks at me, stiffening. "Go a-away, Jefferson," He stutters, his eyes and nose a light shade of red. Tears are slipping down his cheeks. I bite my lip and shake my head. He stays silent before yelling at me, "NO! Leave! I'm serious! I just ruined my life, I don't want you here!" I'm taken aback. He looks helpless. Like he has nothing anymore. He looks angry, like he could kill me... He continues, not noticing the look on my face, "And- And-- Eliza... She won't love me anymore... My son...Oh, it will ruin his life.... I don't... What the fuck!?? Why did I do this..??? I'm ruined I- I.." He's choking on his own tears at this point. I have to stop this, "Alex..." "I'm such a terrible man and--" "ALEXANDER." He looks up at me, "WHAT!?"
"Calm down, god, seeing you sobbing and stumbling over your own words is... Well it's pathetic," I pinch the bridge of my nose, "Look, I'll make sure nothing gets out, M'kay? Don't stress your pretty little head." He nods and scoffs at the last part. "Now get off your ass and let me help you clean up this mess."
After I finish cleaning, I leave. I don't say goodbye. Why would I? I shut the door behind me, the wind blowing my hair. I feel the cold breeze on my warm cheeks...
WARNING: SLIGHT NFSW
I made my way back to me and Madison's shared house. I quietly slip into my room when I get there and slide down my door. I sigh and look down at my lap. I groan, "Shit." I reassure myself with a whisper, "No...No... It's not my fault I like to see him like that... S..so pathetic..." Shaking my head as I lower my left hand down, I whisper a name. I whisper, "Alexander."
I'm walking down the street and I bump into someone, I look up, "Sorry- Oh- Aaron. We need to talk." He nods, confused. "Look... don't do it. M'kay? If you release any information I will ruin you. Got it?" "Why?" he questions. "Because, Aaron, I want to do it." He gulps and nods, rushing away. I'm pretty sure he bumped into someone else because I heard someone yell. I roll my eyes and keep walking. I was walking aimlessly before, now I'm headed to Hamilton's house. Once I'm there, I bite my lip as I knock on the door. The door flings open and my eyes widen as I fall back straight on my ass. I gasp, the air being knocked out of me as I make contact with the ground. He laughs, "Hello, Jefferson." I groan and nod my head, "Hamilton. A little help?" He shakes his head and walks away. I get up and dust off my expensive clothes. I walk inside.
He's sitting down in his office, scribbling away on a piece of parchment. I roll my eyes, "Always working, huh? Must be stressful." He ignores me and I continue talking, "I mean, it's impressive, sure... Oh! I stopped Burr, by the way. He won't say a word, I promise." Alexander looks up and nods, meeting my eyes. He looks back down at his paper. I huff at him. "I don't like being ignored, y'know?" he says nothing back. I pout and storm out of the room. Just as I'm about to walk out of the door, I hear loud chuckling. I growl and walk out, slamming the door behind me.
