"Shaggy blonde, five o' clock, blue swim trunks."
Propped up on our elbows, Erika and I simultaneously lowered our sunglasses, peeking over the rims at our target.
"He's got a nice back, but his nose is a little sharp." I commented, studying the obvious "surfer dude" who ran at the water's edge after the rest of his friends.
"He struts too. And I can hear him from all the way over here." Erika confirmed, and we both laid back down and pushed our glasses back into place. We were laid out in our new bikinis soaking up the sun's rays, and of course searching the beach for any eye candy. While Erika didn't date, she certainly had a taste for cute guys, and reminded me strongly of a little kid with their nose pressed against the window of a sweets shop.
"I feel better all ready. I seriously should have come out sooner. I'm dying up in Oregon." I murmured, letting out a sigh of bliss as I turned on my stomach, my front already well toasted.
"Like I said, you could always move back. But what about that creep your mom got divorced from? That's why you moved in the first place right? He hasn't shown up or anything?" Erika inquired, propping back up on her elbows and removing her shades to look down at me with concern.
"No, but I don't think he'd be any trouble if he found us up there." I replied, knowing that if he came around with Ashton or Ruby about he'll have himself a nice shallow grave in the woods. Who knows? Cyril might even help bury him. The thought gave me goosebumps, and I shivered despite the day's heat. It was hard to digest sometimes that I was constantly around blood sucking murderers, and it was a fact I constantly tried to put at the back of my mind.
Whack!
I let out a screech as Erika's hand came in stinging contact with my back, and pushed myself up as I gave her a "What the hell!?" kind of look.
She was staring with wide eyes at the sea, her sunglasses slumped to the bridge of her nose as her hand tried to find me again.
"What?" I snapped at her.
"I've found our Adonis..." she murmured in a daze, and my gaze followed hers.
It was like one of those slow motion scenes in movies when girls just stop and stare at the overly attractive male getting out of the water with a golden bronze chest covered in sparkling water droplets, his dark hair hanging attractively over one eye and the waves crashing behind him. He even took my breath away, and I had seen Ashton half naked.
We weren't the only girls staring, far from it actually. Any guy looking like a model for some beach photo shoot always drew flocks of women, and while they didn't approach him directly, they did surround him like a pack of piranhas, half of them adjusting their bikini tops to leave little to the imagination. Had to give them points for effort.
"Maybe we should get closer." Erika murmured, her eyes starry as she half drooled over the stranger. She looked as if she were about to wag her tail and roll over for the dude, and I shook my head to clear such a disturbing image from my imagination before quickly reaching into the cooler we brought and handing her a cold soda.
"Chill out and cool yourself down, you're thirsty, and on top of that turning red." I instructed as I adjusted the umbrella over her before laying back down, away from Adonis and the flock of flamingos trailing after him. I had nothing against him personally, but guys that hot were usually trouble, and in my personal case, included a set of fangs. Not that he was a vampire. Ashton had told me that while they didn't sparkle in sunlight or burst into flames, it was still painful to be in direct sunlight as a vamp.
I grabbed my sunglasses and shoved them back onto my face as I laid back, sighing heavily. I heard Erika pop open her soda and take a sip, although she choked midway through.
