Alvina woke up the next morning and Garret was nowhere to be found, she rolled over and let out a light groan. She knew he had school in the mornings per usual, but today he didn't wake her up like he usually did. Her eyes fluttered open and she glanced over at her alarm clock on her nightstand beside their bed. "TWELVE PM, SHIT I overslept" Alvina shouts and jumps up off of the bed. She slides on her pink fuzzy slippers that are always resting in the same position beside the nightstand and heads out of the room towards the kitchen. A note lays on the counter that reads, "Headed out early today to turn in the essay didn't want to wake you, See you when I get home. Love you.".  "Understandable" she replied in her head, turning her attention toward the loaf of bread wrapped in plastic that is reflecting the light coming from the window in front of her and she's reminded of the night before and the drunken mess that Garret was when he got home and that shitty essay she wrote for him. She swiftly grabs the loaf and pulls a couple of pieces out sticking them in the toaster to let them crisp. When opening the fridge to get the butter, she picks up the butter container. "Empty. Great" she thinks to herself but before she has time to get too upset the sound of the toaster popping up grabs her attention. While walking to the cabinet to get a plate for her toast she takes a sticky note pad and writes out the word "BUTTER" in all caps starting a grocery list. She puts the toast on the plate and grabs the sticky notes, making her way to the couch. They needed groceries anyway , since she slept late she figures she still had time to grab some and make it back before Garret gets back.

After driving to the store, Alvina realizes she had more time left then she thought she was going to. The local music store was a couple blocks over so she gets on the road and heads that way. While driving she passes a big billboard, "MICHAEL JACKSON, DANGEROUS WORLD TOUR 1992-1993" with a set of big brown eyes staring right back at her. She had always wanted to see Michael live but never had the money cause she was a college student, that and the apartment ended up being what most of her income went towards. Not anymore though now that she wasn't in college anymore, she had a lot more free time and money. This could be her only chance at happiness since losing her baby last year. Her boyfriend made her happy too but he was never around enough anymore for her to depend on him completely. She knew he was dealing with the loss of their kid too but he just had a different way of expressing it and she gives him all the love and support he could need, but he never took the same approach towards her. Alvina arrived at the music store and made her way inside, spotting a huge poster that looked the same as the billboard she saw driving here. She walked towards the back of the store where the CDs were picking up a couple albums from different artist before she decided on the one that she wanted. When she was checking out she noticed a sign behind the counter that read "tickets sold here". "What tickets??" She blurted out quickly. "What?" The cashier on the other side of the counter replied. The cashier turned around to look at the sign that Alvina was staring at and nearly foaming at the mouth over. "Oh yeah, those tickets. They're for the new Michael Jackson tour, Dangerous I think its called.". "Are there any left?" Alvina replied wasting no time in-between. "No, sadly. I was actually supposed to put a sold out notice over that and forgot. Thanks for reminding me though!" The cashier said handing Alvina her change from the purchase she just made. "Oh... Alright well thanks anyways!" She disappointingly replied. A minute later when she got in her car the clock on the radio flashed 3:30pm, her boyfriend garret would be home soon, she did not want to be there when he got back in fear of the mess she may had caused with that essay. She decided to head to Central Park and just chill there for a while, it was close to her apartment and she figured she could be home quick when she decided to leave.

On a bench in central park she sat watching the birds fly by, Alvina falling into deep thought, she starts reminiscing on all the years her and Garret have spent together, 4 to be exact. His deep blue eyes and short brown curly hair, and with a hot model face, he was physically everything she could ask for, she didn't think she ever had a chance with any other man. Did she just get lucky with him? No other man seemed to be interested in her. Alvina is absolutely beautiful, inside and out, but she never seems to notice that about herself.  Garret made her feel special, well he used to... But had she been to harsh on him recently, the essay in mind she begins to hope that he didn't get the get the grade today, afraid of what bomb is ticking just waiting to go off back at home. They'd been in fights before but usually over little things like him drinking late or leaving the toilet seat up, had she messed up big time?  She looks down at her watch, "4:25" He should be back home by now, so Alvina walks over to her car about a street away and starts heading back to the apartment. Arriving at their apartment complex, she walks up to their front door, its locked? That's weird usually he leaves it unlocked when he gets home. Putting her keys in the door to unlock it and opening the door quickly, looking around for any sign of him. She quietly shuts the door and shuffles toward their bedroom door to switch into some more comfortable clothes before she goes down to get the groceries. She opens the door expecting to see Garret taking a nap, hoping he was meaning he most likely didn't notice the essay today.... but he's still nowhere to be found. She shrugs thinking nothing of it, he probably went out with friends like always, so she heads back down stairs to her car to grab the groceries. That's weird his cars sitting right there. She squints and leans her head forward a little to see through the tinted windows, is... is that another girl? She had long dark hair from what she could see, she couldn't really see anything else. Worried he might notice her standing there she grabs the bags of groceries and tiptoes over to the elevator for a quick exit. She ran down the hallway towards their unlocked front door and speedily entered. She couldn't believe what she had just saw. The essay was the least of her worries now.
