Chapter VIII

"Where are you going Lis?" Rosé asks Lisa when she stands up from her seat. Rosé was talking to a guest and Lisa wanted to excuse herself to go the restroom since Rosé was occupied. A little time for her to also breathe away from the party.

The Afterparty started, there is a band in front playing music and drinks were served on the table. The adult at the table left to talk to other people at the party, leaving the younger ones left on the table for themselves.

Jennie is busy with her phone while Kai keeps on talking to her. Her older sister is also talking to a guy which Rosé mentioned to Lisa as the heir of an entertainment company.

"I'll just go to the restroom" Lisa excused herself and followed the direction Rosé instructed her. Rosé was ready to accompany her but she assures her to be quick and continue to talk to her guest.

Lisa was about to go back after her trip to the restroom when she remembers that she forgot to bring her gift for Rosé parents which is still in her car, it was a wine from Italy, she was unsure what to give or if she should bring a gift, but she somehow still bought one in case. She decided to get it and gave it to Rosé since Mr. and Mrs. Park were busy mingling with their guest and maybe call it a night since it's already getting late.

Lisa walked to the parking lot of the Park's mansion, the night breeze was cold, and Lisa tightened her coat as she walked near her car. She was scrambling to grab the bottle of wine at the back of her car when she heard people talking just a distance. She was supposed to ignore them since it could be just some guest at the party, but she heard a familiar voice. It was Jennie.

"I'll talk to you tomorrow, you can't be here, if she saw you, she will surely get mad and would go crazy again. It's already late and cold you might get sick" She heard Jennie say. Her tone's persistent but soft.

Lisa peeked to see who she was talking to and saw a silhouette of what seemed to be an older lady whose face is covered with a fur hoodie.

"I know, I'm doing okay, I will try to visit next month I promise but you need to go back now" Jennie hugged the older lady and ushered her toward the car. It was an Audi SUV

Lisa watched as Jennie bid goodbye. She leans to her car gazing at Jennie who is waving her hand and for the first time since they met, she saw the girl smile genuinely wide, her gummy smile showing looking like a kid as she mouthed, I'll see you! to the Lady in the car. It's like seeing another Jennie who looks soft and... cute? Lisa thought as she continued to eye the girl.

Lisa's brow furrowed thinking why she was minding Jennies' business, but she couldn't help but overhear the conversation and was curious why Jennie look tense a while ago and want the older lady out of the place.

"Hey Kitten, everything okay?" She couldn't help but ask when she saw Jennie walk pass her which almost made Jennie jump in surprise as she walk out of the shadow where she was standing.

"What the fu-- what are you doing there?!" Jennie looks at Lisa with wide eyes as the latter just shrugged her shoulder. Jennie looks shocked and somehow nervous, which makes Lisa more curious what she is doing with that older lady.

"I went to get my gift" Lisa raised her hand showing the bottle of wine. "Why are you so tense?"

"How long have you been there?" Jennie didn't answer her question but instead threw her another one.

"a lil while? why?" Lisa asks her brows raising. Seeing no reason why she's the one being interrogated.

Jennie didn't answer but just stared at her as if trying to sense if she sees something that she might be concerned about.
