Chapter I
Jennie Kim stood at the center of the university's announcement board as she smirk seeing her name on the top of the rank List. Her chin was set up high as she cross her arm, It's not a new sight to behold to see her name on top, she has always been an ace student and it's already been expected for her to top the list, and get the highest GPA.
"Niiice I'm rank two unnie" A sweet voice speak beside her. Jennie turns her head to see her childhood best friend Roseanne Park who looks so pleased with the result, she was cutely wearing her glasses and clutching her folder in her arms.
Jennie gave her a small smile. It's always been their dynamic even from their grade school days, she tops the rank and her best friend comes in second. Jennie never felt Rosé competing for the top spot, but they both support each other and challenge each other to excel. Though she encourage her bestfriend to compete for the top rank for she's okay to share the place when it comes to her bestfriend but Rosé always just answers her with a smile and says that she's already happy with the result, saying that rank two is already a great feat and she's been doing her best but just fall short to Jennie's extracurricular activities from being the student council president to the captain of the cheering squad and other activities in school.

"I don't even get it, why do we have to look at it we both know we will top the list" Jennie airily said making two students who were also looking at the list look at them with one eyebrow raised. "Yes?" Jennie hotly asked making the two turn their head back and continue ogling at the list as Rosé giggled.
Jennie can be cocky at times and has always been the competitive one, driven and very determine specially when she want something. She would strive hard and do her best to win and do everything perfectly. Rosé admires this side of Jennie, always eager to take challenges and grow from it. She's not afraid of saying what she wants and what's on her mind compare to Rosé who is shy to say things and rather keep everything to herself.
"I think it's fun to look at it together with other students, it's like I'm being infected with their excitement too" Rosé answered sweetly . "Its our last year here in the University unnie, I'm thrilled to start this semester with good vibes" Jennie just roll her eyes and grab her best friend away from other students who started to crowd the announcement board hoping to see their name on the list.
