I woke up in a warm, comfortable bed. I opened my eyes, finding them to be a little bit puffy. “What…” I groaned, sitting up. I was in the hospital wing. How did I get here? What did Bianca Simpkins do to me?

“Eleanor, you’re awake,” A voice croaked from in front of me.

I looked to the person in the bed across from me and screamed. “Neville – oh my goodness!”

Madam Pomfrey came bustling out of her office. “What was that racket? Oh, Miss Harper, you’re awake. Good.”

“What happened to you, Neville?” I asked in horror.

Neville flashed a lopsided grinned. “Oh, I just got repeatedly kicked in the face and ribs by Carrow. And I was Cruciatus Cursed.”

My hand flew to cover my mouth. “Oh Merlin, Neville. That is awful…”

“It’s despicable,” Madam Pomfrey agreed. “But he’ll be fine in a couple of days. How are you feeling, Miss Harper?”

“Fine, really. What happened to me?”

“Miss Hale said you were tortured with the Cruciatus Curse by another student for several minutes.”

“Yeah. What spell did she hit me with after that? I remember it hurt a lot.”

            “A very powerful Stinging Hex.”

“You face was bigger than a balloon,” Neville put in cheerfully.

“I’ve fixed you up, though,” Madam Pomfrey continued. “You look perfectly fine again.”

            “Can I go?” I asked.

“You might be a little sore from the Cruciatus Curse…”

“I’ll be fine,” I shrugged, swinging my legs out of bed. I had somehow been changed into pyjamas. “Uh…why am I wearing pyjamas?”

“You were unconscious overnight,” Madam Pomfrey told me. “I thought you might be a bit uncomfortable in your school robes.”

“Oh. Thanks. Speaking of, are they still here? I don’t want to walk through the school in a nightie.”

“Miss Hale took them back up to your dormitory,” Madam Pomfrey said apologetically. “They were a bit torn up. But don’t worry; everyone should be in their classes.”

Well, at least that meant no students would see me in my nightgown. “Okay.”

“You can leave as soon as you like,” Madam Pomfrey told me. “But don’t go to class for today. Mr. Longbottom, do you need anything?”

            “Not right now.”

“I’ll be in my office, then. Call me if you need me.” She turned to me. “Have a good day, Miss Harper, and try to stay out of trouble. I’ve been seeing you in here far too much lately.”

“Sure.” I watched as she retreated into her office. “Neville, are you alright?”

“Peachy,” He grinned. “It felt worth it to yell at Carrow.”
