Our Friendship Never Changes

Chapter 1: The New Girl

Today was a great day, and Zelda was happy to go to school. Before she got there, she did her hair slightly differently and much prettier than usual. Zelda wore her light brown colour uniform and shiny black shoes for school, and although she didn't put on any make-up, it gave her a confident and sporty feeling. There was an exchange student tour coming to her school today, and she wanted to make a good impression.

"Good morning, mother! I am going to school now!" Said Zelda as she smiled at her mother and prepared to leave.

"Good morning, dear!" Zelda's mother, Diana, said, " I heard an exchange student tour is taking place today, right? The students are from Canada! I packed some sweets in a plastic bag for you to take to school and share them, alright?"

"Of course, mother." Zelda said, " I cannot wait to greet them all!

Zelda took the bag from her mother and put it inside her school bag. As she arrived at school, she saw many people from other countries. " I wonder if I will see someone from our country!" Zelda said to herself. She walked into her classroom and overheard several people discussing that a girl from the exchange tour was very cute, beautiful even. And the most important thing was she was from their own country, which meant it would be easy to communicate. Zelda was curious about who that girl would be.

When it was time to register, the tutor from their class welcomed the exchange tour students and asked them to come in. When they stood in a straight line, facing the class, Zelda discovered that one girl looked very familiar. She seemed like she was from the same country as her. That girl noticed Zelda looking at her, and she smiled back at her. Her smile was warm and beautiful. Then the students introduced themselves one by one. The girl who smiled at Zelda was last. " Hello, everyone! My name is Mipha, and I've been studying at this school for three years, but I moved to Canada! And I see my best friend in this class! Hello, Zelda!" Mipha greeted her with a friendly smile, walked over to her, and whispered," I've something to give you. Wait for me at break time."

"I didn't even know this!" Zelda's tutor, Miss Yoshina, said, " That is like a miracle to meet here again, Mipha!" "Yes, it is! Before she came here, she told me how excited she was and was extremely happy. She must be so excited to see you again, " said Mipha's tutor, Miss Elford, to Zelda.

Who is she? Mipha? Her name sounds familiar, Zelda thought. Then, all of a sudden, all the memories came into Zelda's head.

3 Years Ago...

As Zelda got into the school, she walked to her classroom and saw a girl standing at the front of the classroom door. She seemed to want to enter the classroom because she kept staring inside it. Zelda walked towards her and said, "Hello. Who are you? Are you lost? What's your name? Who is your tutor?" The girl was a bit shocked to face so many questions at the same time.

" Hello. Urm... My name is Mipha, urm..." Mipha said. Zelda realized the girl must be a bit shy, as her face turned pink.

"No worry. Are you a new student?" Zelda asked kindly, " Do you want to get into this class with me?"

" Yes, I am new. I changed schools several times, and this time to Hyrule Academy. And thank you, but the teacher asked me to wait for her outside the classroom," Mipha said, holding her hands together tightly.

"Hi, Zelda. Thanks for looking out for her, but I hope you can go to your classroom now." Miss Tsuna said."

" Yes, miss. And I will try my best to help her if she needs it." Zelda said and waved to her friend who was inside the classroom.

"Oh, thank you. This is so kind Zelda. Now, I have something to talk to you about, Mipha." Miss Tsuna said to Mipha and Zelda walked into the classroom.

Inside the classroom, Zelda's best friend for now, which was Helena said to Zelda, " Did you get into trouble? I saw you talking to our headteacher and class teacher, Miss Tsuna."

"No, I didn't, Helena. Thanks for your concern. A new girl is starting school today, and I tried to talk to her." Zelda said.

"Is she nice? Is she kind? Is she talkative?" Helena was very interested in this new student, and she kept asking questions to know more about her.

" No, I don't know yet, Helena." Zelda shook her head, " Well, she seems like a quiet person, cute and pretty, but also very shy."

" I see! So..." Helena wanted to ask some other things, but she saw that Miss Tsuna had already entered the classroom, so she immediately stopped talking. Then the whole class was silent.

" Good morning, everyone! Nice to see you all today! Yesterday, I told you a new girl is coming here, so please welcome her!" Miss Tsuna said, and everyone's eyes were turned to the classroom door. Mipha stepped into the classroom, feeling very shy about everyone's eyes looking at her. She stood in front of the class and faced them. " You can now introduce yourself." Miss Tsuna smiled. Mipha took a deep breath and said," Hello, everyone. My name is Mipha, and I like reading and writing. My favourite sport is swimming and surfing. And also, Hanetsuki. I am very good at that." Thanks to Miss Tsuna's encouragement, Mipha smiled. She was so warm and kind. This shocked Zelda because she hadn't seen that beautiful, smooth, warm smile before. Even though she practised smiling every day in the mirror, she always felt like she could never do that.

" I will establish a new seating plan from now on. In these past few weeks, you've been sitting with your friends. Now, please pack up and stand in front of the classroom. When I call your name, please sit where I assign you. From the back left. Shina, Yosana, Korica..." Finally, Miss Tsuna called Mipha's name, " Mipha, Zelda." The two of them sat in the middle of the classroom together, but Helena sat in the front of the classroom. Helena felt upset because she could not sit next to Zelda. However, Zelda thought it was a good idea not to sit with her. She knew that she would have been happy to sit with Helena if Miss Tsuna allowed them to. But she thought it was good to make new friends too! Aside from Mipha, this class was the same as last year's, so Zelda already knew all of them and their characters. The only one she didn't know much about was Mipha. She wanted to try to be friends with her too!
