Scott helped around the house tirelessly, and it looked cleaner than ever. Stiles was wondering if his Dad would let him stay if he kept it up. As the week went by Scott and Stiles got closer and closer.

Scott still hadn't actually explained how he could lift so much at once. Stiles gave up asking at some point. Assuming he was a bodybuilder or something.

Stiles couldn't explain it, but the way they were able to talk so easily. It made him feel safe. Like someone actually wanted to be around him. Contrary to literally anyone else in Northborn. Scott seemed to thrive off of their conversations. Much like Allison had. That made Stiles miss her terribly for a while. But he moved on from that. Allison was and always would be his best friend. The fact that he'd found someone who could do the same as her gave him hope he wouldn't be alone his whole life.

Scott had a deep love of the woods. Stiles had felt safer there than in his own house so he ended up being out there more and more considering how he actually had someone to go with now. Scott showed him some bushes and interesting things in the forest that Stiles previously had no idea about.

Then Stiles saw a flower. Actually a whole field of them. Beautiful and purple. Part of him vaguely remembered Allison carrying around this flower. He walked towards the field. Only to feel Scott grab his wrist. Pulling him back.

"Hey-" Scott looked at him like he was crazy.

"Why were you going that way?" He asked urgently.

"Because the flowers remind me of a friend?" Stiles said pointing a questioning gaze Scott's way. Not sure why Scott was acting so scared of a bunch of flowers.

"Why?" Scott asked again. Eying him, suddenly wary. For what reason Stiles couldn't fathom.

"Because my friend usually carried one around. Now that I think about it... they were usually around her house." Stiles looked back at Scott. Getting more confused as he turned pale.

"Are... does your friend still live here? In Northborn?" Stiles felt his heart deflate slightly as he answered.

"No, she moved away after her Mom died..." Scott's body sagged with what seemed like relief. Stiles was getting increasingly more confused. "Why does any of that matter to you?"

"I'm... allergic, to that flower. And I want to get to know you... and your friends. Just glad that I won't be breaking out all the time." Scott smiled sheepishly. But Stiles could tell he was hiding something from him. He let it go for the time being.

"Honestly, I don't understand how you can even stand my presence. Most people here can barely keep a conversation going with me." Scott started walking away from the field and Stiles followed.

"Well, I used to be a lot like that. I couldn't help anybody, I was kinda weak. And pretty much everything a girl avoids."

"What changed?" Stiles asked jokingly. Clearly, that wasn't the version of Scott he was seeing now.

"A lot of stuff. Maybe someday I'll show you." Stiles didn't notice the plotting look on Scott's face, but it was gone as Stiles looked up.

"I don't know. Most of the time my mouth is more of a problem than my physique. Though I definitely wouldn't be against being a bit stronger." Stiles said with a sigh, and Scott shrugged.

"Just let me know." Stiles sent him a grateful smile. Though he doubted Scott could actually do anything. He was Eighty percent sure he was lying.

"Yeah, yeah." As they entered the gate to the town, a man walked up to them.

"Mr. Stilinski, are you still interested in finding a house?" He asked sheepishly. Stiles had almost completely forgotten the reason Scott had come here in the first place. And was a tad desperate to make sure Scott didn't move on to the next town. Seeing as this was the first time since Allison that he'd had a real friend.
