Lexie lay in bed and smiled as she looked to her bump. She knew how she was soon to be going onto maternity leave and it scared her. She knew how she was excited for her baby but she knew his scary that it was.

Lexie got dressed and walked downstairs where she saw Iain. She looked to him and smiled "hey" he said as she smiled

"You weren't in bed" she said as he smiled

"I know I thought I'd let you sleep and I made you breakfast" he said as she looked to him and smiled. She placed a hand on his cheek and smiled as he leant in and kissed her

"It's all going to be okay. I promise. I know that this hasn't been easy but it will be okay" Iain said as Lexie smiled

"It's funny isn't it. If we didn't get drunk and have sex then the wouldn't be hooked on the sex with each other and I wouldn't be pregnant and we wouldn't of realised how we felt for each other" Lexie said as Iain smiled

"I'm pretty sure this baby was conceived that drunk night. But I do think we would of realised sooner of later. You know what they say that things happen for a reason and I can't wait for this one to be born. I want to be the best dad I can unlike what I had" Iain said as Lexie looked to him and smiled

"Your going to be a great dad and I am going to do my best to be a great mum" she said as he pulled her close and kissed her and smiled

"You already are. It's all going to be okay" Iain said as Lexie looked to him and smiled hoping that he was right

Lexie got to work and smiled as she saw Esme and smiled

"How is my little sister doing"

"She's all good. I can't say the same over her father it's a mess and I don't know what to do" Esme said as Lexie looked to her and smiled

"He should be sticking by you" Lexie said as Esme smiled

"He doesn't know if he can raise another child he can produce one but when it comes to raising her oh no. Honestly lex I can't be bothered with it and the drama he is always letting me down or using me and I deserve better" Esme said as Lexie looked to her and smiled

"Yeah you do. Look I know it is a mess but it will be okay. Besides this one will always have her big sister" Lexie said as Esme looked to her and smiled

"I know she will"

Lexie walked into the ambulance bay and looked to see Iain and smiled as she walked over to him "what are you doing here" he asked as she looked to him and rolled her eyes

"Charming is that how you speak to the mother of your unborn child" she asked as he looked to her and smiled

"I'm kidding, are you okay" he asked as he wrapped her arms around her waist as she looked to him and smiled

"I'm okay. I am just tired. I have been thinking over names what If we name her Madeline...Maddie for short" she asked as Iain looked to her and smiled

"Maddie Dean. I like it" he said as he leant in and kissed her. Lexie smiled as she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him closer.

She knew how she was doing to be having their baby and things were to change but we're they ready for it?
