Chapter Fifteen

The way that my plan to kill Al backfired sucks ass. I honestly thought I could do it. As Nico and I are walking away a scream echoes around the woods. I whirl around to look at Nico knowing that scream.

"Kat." He confirms my guess.

I watched him dash off into the house, rooted to where I was standing. There was still one alive. I could have done something. I could be doing something right now but I can't move. Instead I run all the way back to the group, leaving Nico on his own.

"KAT WAS ALIVE BUT SHE'S NOT ANYMORE" I shouted at them, frantically.

"NICO WENT BACK IN TO HELP HER AND-" I inhale to calm myself down.

The others calm me down enough and I sit with them to wait. I must have zoned out because when I wake back up Nico is standing over me.

"Seth. You could have been killed. What if I was Al?" He scolds me. The others watch on. I just sat there in shock. He's alive and here.

After everyone was awake and had the little "reunion" we decided to keep moving. Something seems off with Nico but I move past it.

"You go ahead and I'll catch up. I'm just going to get rid of evidence we were ever here." I explain and they all nod.

They start moving forward and when I know they are far away I turn and clean things up.

After a good 5 minutes I heard a scream.

Uh oh. I run over and I see May half way up a tree and Nico is watching on, amused while Ashe was wheezing.

"There's a moth getitoffgetitoffgetitoffgetitoff" may squeak and I shoo it away helping her down.

I suddenly hear a rustle in the bush and all I see is a flash of red.

"Y'all i think we're being watched we should head out" I mutter quietly so only they can hear me.

As we walk past a grove of trees I start to hear a loud buzzing. I look up just in time to see a huge wasps nest fall to the ground and crack open. Wow great timing for that huh.

I jump to the side just in time but the angry swarm still flies out and I hit Nico on the shoulder and point at it.

"Oh shit" He mutters.

All hell breaks loose and we all start running in different directions. Nico runs to the lake, May runs to the left and Ashe runs to the right. That leaves the bushes, who knows maybe they won't find me in the bush. Nico was smart to go to water, he can hide there and knowing him he's gonna outlive us only because he's smart. I sprint into the bush and I can feel branches digging into my arms and sides. The bushes are more shallow than I thought and I come face to face with the killer himself.

"Fuck"
