y/n sat at her desk, head on her palm as she stared out the window. "i hate valentine's day." as the day went on, y/n saw lots of people giving their significant others flowers, chocolates, she couldn't help but feel a little jealous.
"what's got you so gloomy, lover girl?" a certain ginger chuckled, swinging his arm over y/n. "huh? me? nothing." y/n shook her head, "you get a valentine?"
"i did!" ajax answered, taking his arm off of y/n as he happily bounced around. "i got a single rose, cute right?" y/n stared at him blankly, "sounds like your date is broke, ouch."
"is not!" ajax denied, "so, which pretty boy caught your eyes?" ajax winked, walking with the girl down the hallway. "nobody," y/n mumbled, picking up her pace.
"oh.. ouch." ajax frowned. "it's like.. all of a sudden scaramouche just totally stopped talking to me.." y/n started to rant.
"um.. what's that have to do with valentine's day?" ajax asked, a confused look plastered on his face. "will you just listen!?" y/n grumbled. ".. someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed." ajax sighed, sitting on a nearby bench in the hallway.
"he constantly annoys me every single day!" y/n complained, ".. and then he just.. stops out of nowhere!" ajax raised an eyebrow at her, "one.. isn't that good? and two, you yelled at the guy."
"well.. yeah! but, he's never listened to a word i say!" y/n explained and ajax gave a sly smirk. ".. you wanted scaramouche to be your valentine .. didn't you? hmm?" he teased
"WHAT." y/n yelled, covering her mouth to hide the pink tint on her face. "absolutely not!"
"gotchu, i'll go let him know!" ajax cheers, hopping up from the bench chair and skipping along down the hallway. "will you wait!?" y/n yelled, running after the tall ginger boy.
"HEYY-! scaramouche! y/n here wanted you to ask her to be your valentine, but you didn't. what's up with that?" ajax talked loudly. "-wait!" y/n huffed, catching up to the two male figures.
"what?" scaramouche asked, obviously confused from the sudden interaction. "didn't you say..?"
"ENOUGH ABOUT THAT!" ajax flicked his wrist, "seriously man, not cool!" ajax shook his head, "you literally told me-" scaramouche started to say before getting cut off.
"wow, you want her to be your valentine!? cool!" ajax chuckled, pushing the two together before skipping off once again to god knows where.
y/n and scaramouche stood awkwardly, an awkward tension between them. neither knew what to say, and so scaramouche started to walk down the hallway.
y/n stood where she was, taking scaramouche's actions as that she should probably be heading to her next class as well. "are you coming or what, dumbass." scaramouche snickered, looking the girls direction.
"huh? me?" y/n's eyes fluttered. scaramouche let out a groan, "no, i'm talking to the fucking wall. yes, i'm talking to you."
"we have class though.." y/n mentioned as the two walked together. "i'm ditching." scaramouche shrugged, heading for the side door where everyone left through since nobody checked it. "oh, okay." y/n rubbed her neck, "see you."
"you're so annoying." scaramouche spat out, slapping a hand to his face. "are you coming with me, or not?" y/n sighed before following the indigo haired boy to his car.
".. where are we going?" y/n asked. "lunch." scaramouche answered, pulling into the olive garden across the street from the school.
"let's go, then." scaramouche said in a calm tone, pulling his keys out from his car, getting out of it. the pair headed into the establishment, getting seated by one of the waiters.
"what do you want?" scaramouche asked y/n, looking up from his menu. "f/f, if that's okay." y/n nervously answered. scaramouche only nodded, closing his own menu.
"can you order for me?" y/n asked scaramouche who broke down laughing at her request. "order for you? are you a child?" he chuckled, "never mind then." y/n looked away, embarassed.
when the waiter came, scaramouche placed his order. "and for you ma'am?" the waiter asked y/n, but scaramouche spoke up, "she'll have f/f."
a small smile crept up the girls face, but she hid it in her menu, keeping her head down low.
"do you want me to drop you back off at school or home?" scaramouche asked y/n. "home," she answered, and he nodded.
when scaramouche dropped y/n off, he also handed her a bag before she went into her apartment, not sparing another word before driving off.
"weirdo." y/n whispered, keeping the plastic bag in her hand as she unlocked her front door.
upon entering, she put all her belongings down before opening his strange gift.
inside was a small bouquet of roses, and a neatly folded piece of paper, obviously ripped out of a notebook.
y/n opened it, reading through it.

y/n laughed at his sad attempt at writing a letter, the boy obviously didn't know how to apologize to somebody; probably because he never had before.
maybe she would give him another chance, if he'd stop being such a pushover.
