//Hello, this is your author speaking. I realized that this is probably the first time I've left an A/N in a Wattpad book. Anyways, online I go by Amelia, but you all may call me Ame. Thank you so much for all the support this book is receiving!! I'm so sorry about the long wait in between chapters. I had no access to my laptop for a few days and thus missed out on writing, with the added issue of not having enough wi-fi to unlock chapters on Tappytoon to write on my phone. So so so sorry! However, we should be back to the usual once-a-day updates now!

"Osiris. Do you swear that there is nothing but the truth in all that you are about to disclose here?" Maat questioned, bringing out her scale and placing the Feather of Truth on one side.

Neith knew how this was going to go. Osiris' heart would go in the empty side and he would swear upon his heart and his heart would end up being lighter than, or as light as the feather, thus rendering his statement true and sentencing them to their dooms. She steeled herself for it, staring straight ahead and ignoring her son's attempts to catch her gaze. Surely she would break if she were to look into his sweet, innocent eyes.

"I do. I swear on my heart," Osiris proclaimed.

The once-king's heart was placed upon the scale, and the heart was, as expected, of equal weight as the feather, the feather's weight compared to the heart's newly added weight pulling the scale out of balance slightly before levelling out to create a fragile balance. One singular lie was all it would take to tip the scale and render his story useless.

"Alright, I'll answer your question first," Osiris spoke, turning to face his sister and brother.

Seth flinched back upon Osiris' gaze settling on his form. Neith seemed to remain calm and collected, as if to mock the once-king's very being, but her inner state of mind was just as frightened.

"Just as she said, I was resurrected in the Nile river. I stand here as living proof of that. At the time of my resurrection, we made love with one another and had a child," Osiris nearly smirked.

In the background, Isis sobbed silently, Bastet attempting to comfort the god of magic.

"The name of that child is Horus. There's no mistaking that the one standing here right now is my son," Osiris claimed.

Seth began to tremble, a sneer painting itself on his face. He was in a state of denial, disbelief that the one he had sought to destroy forever had managed to slip through his grasp and continue his bloodline and name with the very woman who had rejected Seth in the face of her husband's death.

"The fact that the scale is not tilting is proof that he's telling the truth. Thus it has been proven that Horus is indeed Osiris' son," Maat proclaimed.

She was right, of course, and Neith had know that since Horus refused to fight the women of the arena.

"Maat... skip the boring formalities and ask him what happened back then. Aren't you all curious?" Ra yawned from her throne.

Neith let out a soft growl at their great grandmother's nonchalance, so ill-placed and unwanted, not to mention unnecessary. The sun god truly was full of herself, drunk on the power that came with her title, as feeble and fleeting as it was. Every day the great serpent Apep tries to bring an end to the sun god's reign and prevent the rise of the morning sun in the dark of her trip through Duat. And the sun god found the need to employ gods like Seth and herself to protect her as she made her rounds in her sun boat. Truly, though she understood how crucial it was that the sun rise every day, lest the mortals of the earth be plunged into inescapable darkness and famine, the sun god put the lives of all who worked upon her barge at risk as they battled the Serpent in her place.
