(WRITTEN BY THE PERSON BEHIND THE CHARACTER OF 'THE HOBO')
After a restless night, Sonnie decided he'd go for a walk. He stumbled out of his roughly set-up tent and started wondering through the unwelcoming forest. Tonight felt different, not only was his friend seemingly dead, but there was something off about the fight itself. The smell. A putrid stench, rotten to the core. It had an eery familiarity to it, he was sure he had smelt it before.
About 20 minutes of mindless walking later, he heard a rustling in the bushes a few feet ahead. His grip tightened on his katana, it was night so he expected a demon to jump him. Fortunately for him, it was the hobo he'd kept spotting. He quickly loosened his grip and walked up to the older man, greeting him by raising his eyebrows. The hobo quickly turned around like he was surprised to see the young black kid, and greeted him with what looked like a hearty smile under the black balaclava he was wearing. 'Hey!! Black kid!!!' He spoke with excitement in his smoky voice, to which the younger awkwardly replied 'Hey.' He didnt hate the hobo, but like everyone else didnt bother to speak much, he was an interesting character though. As the hobo stepped towards him his lengthy oddly coloured purple hair seemed to drag behind him, like a carpet. 'How are you doing? You hear all them explosions earlier? Seemed like quite the fight.' So he knew, not surprising as it was pretty loud. 'Yeah.' he replied. 'So, about that...' silence lingered between the two, until the masked man took a step closer and crouched down to the scrawny kids height. Something changed, perhaps the atmosphere. An uncomfortable aura washed over him, waiting for what the other would announce.
'I know what happened.' Not a surprise. 'I know your friend is gone.' Alright, maybe that was.'And I know yours did something to mine too.'
He paused, like he was awaiting a reaction of some sort. His hair on his arms started to rise. What did he mean? His friend was hurt? Munch fought a demon, not a human. Before he could think further the hobo seemed to inch towards him, his lanky thin hands with knife-like tips grasped the lower part of his balaclava, pulling it up just enough to reveal his mouth. Sonnie knew something was off now, everything in his body was telling him to run, blaring signals screaming at him that he should leave. The hobo opened his mouth, his teeth were flawless, uncannily perfect. 'If your friends pull any stunt like that again, your little demon friend wont be with you much longer.' He knew the scent now. His intoxicating, bean smelling breath filled him with realisation and fear. His amber eyes widened, and he started running. Faster than he ever had before, the trees became a blur around him. Anything to get away from that man. His presence was something else entirely, something horrifically powerful. How had he let himself be near him so often? And so calm too?
Following what felt like an eternity running, he had reached their make-shift camp. His first choice was to run into the sleeping Max's tent, trying to shake him awake. 'Max.' his monotone but alarmed voice didnt have any affect, although the young adult started whining in half-asleep mumbles. 'Max.' He repeated with urgency. His cloudy eyes finally opened, staring at Sonnie with an angry glare. 'What do you want idiot, its like, 4 in the morning.' Ignoring what the sleepy man said, he continued. 'We need to leave. Someones coming for us.' He kept looking behind him, expecting to see the hobo next to him with a dagger or such. 'Wow. That might be the most ive ever heard you talk.' Max responded groggily, like he was about to fall asleep any second. The black kid slapped him square across the face, a shocked expression scowled at him in response. 'Im serious. He'll be here soon.' Sonnie glared at him, although it was hard to see as it was still dark. 'Fine, fine, just shut up for a second, ill get everyone around here.'
A few short minutes later, Max had everyone start packing. The sun was beginning to rise so Orin was kept in her box, the others carried their belongings apart from Lunos, who was still recovering.
'Where are we even going?' She said, shyly. 'Sonnie insists we should go farther away, a train or something. Some scary guy is apparently out to get Orin, which you KNOW I wont have. There's a station not too far from here though, it shouldnt take long if we're fast.' Max seemed to step up as leader pretty easily, which surprised Sonnie seeing as he wasnt distracted as much, although he suspected his friends passing had something to do with it.
About mid way through their walk, it started to rain horribly, like this day was doomed to be awful. By the time they reached the station they were drenched and encased in mud.
