A Kitten?!

Rob's POV

After Matt had nearly gotten me killed me hanging me up on the edge of the closet door, Preston came home, yelled at Matt, and went to bed with me. The next morning, I woke up to a quiet 'meow' coming from outside. I looked out the window, and saw a little white kitty with gray ears and paws. I opened the window and hopped outside. I picked up the kitten and climbed back up through the window. I shook Preston's shoulder to wake him up. "5 more minutes." He complained, but I shook his shoulder again. "What?" Preston asked. He opened his eyes, and I showed him the cat. "Robbie, where did you find it?" Preston asked, taking the kitten out of my hands, and I pointed to the window. "Robbie, let's go, we need to take this cat to the shelter." Preston said, and I started getting ready. I got dressed, grabbed my Epipen, phone, and my wallet which had my debit card with 2 thousand dollars on it, then I hopped into the car, and Matt hopped in too.

Rob's POV

We got to the shelter and I picked up the kitten, and hopped out of the car. We went inside. "Hello, how may we help you today?" I women who looked like she was about in her 20's asked us. I looked at the name tag she had, it said her name was Emily. "Um, yeah, my friend found a cat outside of our house." Preston said. "Well, we'll be glad to take care of it." Emily said, taking the kitten, but I wasn't focused on them, I saw some puppies in another room and wandered off.
Preston's POV

"Well, we'll be glad to take care of it." Emily said, taking the cat from me. "Cmon, you need to sign some papers." She said, then I noticed something. Where's Rob?! "Okay, just a minute though, I gotta go find Rob." I said to Emily, and went to find Rob. "Cmon, Matt." I said, grabbing his wrist and bringing him to the first place I would go to if I were Rob, toward the puppies. "Rob! There you are." I said as I saw Rob looking at some dogs. "What were you thinking, you're not supposed to leave my sight." I said to the mute, and he pointed at the puppies. "You can look at the puppies while I sign some papers, but don't cause any trouble, alright?" I asked and Rob nodded, then I left him with Matt while I did some papers.

Preston's POV

"Okay Robbie, time to go home." I said as I walked over to Rob. He turned around and gave me these adorable little puppy eyes. "What?" I asked him, and he pointed toward some animal cages. "No, we can't, I didn't bring money." I said, knowing he was trying to say he wanted to get a pet. Rob pulled out his phone. 'I brought my debit card with 2k on it' He typed. "Fine! But just as long as you can take care of a pet." I told him. Rob went over to Emily and tugged on her sleeve to get her attention, then pointed towards a cage full of hamsters. I mentally face palmed. He chose a black furred hamster and chose a cage, some bedding, food, and a water bottle for it. "Excuse me, but may I ask if any of you have ever owned a pet before?" Emily asked, I was going to say something, but Matt was quick to respond. "We have him." He said, pointing to Rob. "Haha, very funny, Matt, but in all seriousness, I had a ferret growing up." I said. "Okay then." Emily said, and walked away.

Rob's POV

"So Robbie, what's its name?" Preston asked, referring to my new hamster. I pulled out my phone. 'Ash' I typed, and Preston smiled. I laid down with my head on Preston's lap, and soon fell asleep.
