Newt was stalking around Britain, interested by the new shops in town. His case at his side, as well as a good day. He was stalling until Rose got out of school for the day, he was bored. Newton walked farther into the busy streets and noticed a familiar tuft of blond hair. Thinking his mind's playing tricks on him.. he went on his way.
His mind wasn't playing tricks on him, Gellert's eyes bore into the younger male's head as he walked past. What caught Grindelwald off guard was the fact he wasn't wearing his coat, odd considering that England was cold year round. Was he looking for things to buy? Maybe. The male Scamander spotted his sister's dark red hair as she tumbled through the crowd to get to him. Grindelwald was watching the entire encounter.
He was aware that the three siblings didn't have parents anymore, as well as the fact that both the boys paid for her tuition, but he didn't know much about them beyond that. Maybe besides the fact that Newt's a pest when he wants to topple over the muggle world. Which reminds him, why is he here?
Newt looked down at her sister's hands slowly sighed the phrase, "How was your day?" Newt smiled at her, "It was good." He replied, speaking. He spoke for the girl since she wasn't able to. They continued on conversation as they walked on, Rose's body was slowing her down, so Newton paced himself with her speed.
Rose stopped moving for a second, "Hold on. I smell evil magic." The girl switched between English sign language and magic so fast. Newt paused, "What do you mean?" That sheepish tone of his broke into his voice, "I smell.. Grindelwald."
Did she just sign the dots? Yes. Yes she did. Newt stared at her, "Grindelwald? Here?" His posture got worse, "Yes here you idiot." Her facial expression was tight. Newt gulped, "You think you can wake them up to cause a distraction? Just guide it to me." Rose nodded. Her body morphing as a screech left her lips. Newt ran, giving her a direction to head in.
The obscurial was wreaking havoc, Gellert looked at this. Noticing how the form over was voluntary. He followed Newt's sister's obscurial. Curious to why they were leaving.
Newt had gotten a good distance away, probably close to home. Rose turned back and rubbed her neck as she did so. She sighed, "Your stupid." She said casually. Newt smiled at his sister before helping her inside. Grindelwald watched as the two entered Newton's house.

After a few days a present showed up at his door. It was a mini plush creature of a Grindelow and an Obscurial. These were limited edition.. who gave these to him? Grindelwald was far away, watching as Rose walked out. Stretching. This caused Gellert to take notice in the many bandages on her body, what had she been doing at Hogwarts? Her hands quickly signed between ESL and MSL. Her brother nodded and they took the small box inside. Grindelwald smiled softly, they must've liked the gift.
Gellert kept on giving small gifts until he left a letter at Newt's door on day.
Dearest Newton,
I believe you and your sister owe me thanks, for the many gifts I have given you. Also, there is some pain medication I made specifically for Rose attached to the back of this letter. Use it well.

Rose and Newt were dumbfounded, this stuff was from Grindelwald? Huh. But the pain medication did wonders for when Rose hade aches from the transformations, her obscurial as quieted down and her brain was left clouded. Gellert noticed she spoke more when she used the medication, his smile grew as he knew he had done that for her. Rose was sitting on the lawn one day, doing her paper homework. A tired groan came from her as she realized she had to restart entirely, Gellert was curious as to what she was doing.. so he approached her.
"Hello, Ms. Scamander." Gellert said making the younger woman look up, "Hello, Mr. Grindelwald." She said smiling at him, "What are you doing?" Gellert asked. He said down next to her to look at her homework, it was math. Since when did they do math at Hogwarts? Was this just some extra credit homework? She noticed the curious look on his face, "It's extra credit for my Muggle Studies class." Grindelwald nodded, "It seems quite hard.. but you seem to be handling it well." Newt had come out to call her back inside, but he watched the interaction.
"It is quite-" She stopped abruptly, switching back to Sign Language, "It is quite hard, but I've grown used to it at this point." Gellert nodded, "How's your obscurial doing?" He asked making her look down at the bits and pieces flaking off her body, "Hungry.. it's hungry." She signed. Gellert nodded once more, "Do you want something to eat? I have a cookie.. I bought it a few hours ago, I never ate it though." Grindelwald was kind to the teen who nodded.
He gave her the cookie and she devoured it quickly, "You really were hungry." Newt said catching Gellert off guard, "Mr. Scamander, hello." He stood up, brushing his pants off, "No, you can stay. In fact I just made dinner, If you wish to stay anyways.." Gellert had a soft smile on his face, "Alright." So he stayed. He stayed for dinner and got to know the two more.
He found out that Rose was an animagus, he wondered how that fit in with her obscuris. It didn't, not really. But it was alright. Rose's head hit the table when Newt mentioned that she had a crush, Gellert had a hand over his mouth. An attempt to hold back laughter, "He isn't a crush! James is a friend!" Her hands signed quickly. Was this a normal occurrence for the two, where was Theseus? Wasn't he their brother?
Rose's hands were going a mile a minute, "Slow down, fangs." Newton said trying to get her to calm down. Gellert took a piece of the lamb Newt had prepared into his mouth. She soon threw her hands up in the air, "I am at a reasonably slow pace!" She signed angrily at her brother. Newt didn't believe her, of course he didn't. Why would he? He soon spoke up, "You seem like your in a war and can't speak, so your doing so with haste." Newt said as he rested both his elbows on the table.
Rose's eyes twitched, Gellert just watched, eating quietly. Her hands slammed onto the table, "Grindelwald tell him I'm calm!" She signed at the older male, "I will not. You are absolutely not calm." The male stated, placing his fork and knife down, "If you were calm you'd sign your words carefully and calmly." He scolded the girl who just stood up and transformed into a Wolf. She charged at her brother, only getting stopped by Grindelwald's charm that he cast with his hand.
Angry barking, very angry barking, "Then don't run at him, he didn't do anything to you but patronize you." Gellert stated as the girl turned back, angry at both of them, "I'm going to my room. Good night." She said as she cleared her plate and washed it, "Good."
