I stared blankly at the television screen, it was reporting on The death of Brooke Augustine. Directed of the D.U.P. They had committed crimes against conduits however what Delsin and his fellow peers did was unacceptable. Disappointment surged through my veins. Delsin did not leave a man of evil. He was a good man although he did have the rebellious artists streak that would not be tamed. His brother, Reggie Rowe, had also recently died leaving us deeper into despair. We had loved both, they were dead. Reggie was gone. Delsin was not gone but the real him had walked away into an abyss and instead a dark karma had taken over. Many innocent were dead because of him. People here were suffering due to Augustines visit prior to Delsins leave. I nursed them as best I could, some already dead. They accepted it- Death. Akomish took care of their own - Akomish, he was no longer, I heard Betty say multiple times. I was not Akomish in blood, Delsin had brought me here as his partner. Who knew in two weeks, such tragedy would occur?
It was rumour that Delsin that committed infidelity during the two weeks he left. I remember to have cried faintly then rush back to care for the needy. I did not have time to pity myself.
I was preparing some herbal tea, the ones which have been kept in secure jars for some time now, when I heard the door open.
There was short amount of talking before I heard him. That familiar voice. I heard him try to call out for me.
"Please, just let me see her. She doesn't belong here." He shouts.
I walk behind Betty and sit her down.
She looks at me wearily, I nod firmly. She pushes herself into another room.
"Delsin, you are not welcome here," I say softly. He had put me through a lot of mental torture. I do not know why but my heart still beats for him rapidly, constantly.
"I know, Judging from the reactions," he growls. His voice then softens, "but I'm here for you. Let's leave."
He strokes my face and I look away.
"You killed," I whimper.
"What was I supposed to do?" He sighs,"they stood in my way."
"Delsin, they were innocent." I look up.
He stays silent.
"I've heard you've lied in bed with another woman." I bring up the subject.
"Fetch. She helped me being down the D.U.P." He speaks at last ,"but it was spur of the moment. I still love you."
He puts his hand at heart.
"How can I trust one, like you?" I mumble," I wish to be in the arms of yours. But the old you."
"It's still me," he says, grabbing my wrist.
I look at his attire and notice how much darker it has become. His grip is warm and rough.
"Let go," I try to pry myself away.
"We're leaving," he says firmly into my ear.
"No, I refuse." I object," I need to care for the injured. The injuries in which you were partly responsible for. They've accepted their deaths, they refuse to be saved by the likes of you. I shall make their lives easier by tending to them."
I stand my ground.
"My girl, stubborn as always." He laughs as he forcefully drags me outside.
