All I Want Is You

New Town

  My mom and dad had just divorced and I had to leave with her.Not that i was complaining because honestly I didn't give two fucks about my sperm donor.He was a lying cheating scumbag like half of the male population out there.
  Mariana,my mom,was a doctor but she still made time for our family despite her busy schedule but that douchebag still cheated.Fuck!I get so aggravated when I think about him.
  But enough of him,this is a new town and its beautiful with everyone knowing everyone and the beautiful park at the middle of the town with jacaranda trees.The fence is actually a circular garden of roses,lilies of the valley and other bunch of flowers I don't know about.Its so out of this world.I wonder if the people here are the same as the town..beautiful in and out.
   "What are you thinking about,honey bug?my mom asked as she parked her car.
"How you found such a beautiful place?"I smiled at her.
  "I guess its a good thing because you finally smiled,"she sighed tiredly.We drove the whole night.Between the coffee and the changing of drivers,me and mom,none of us slept a wink and it was catching up on mom.
  "Let's go in,Mariana.You look like shit,"I laughed and got away from the car before she slapped my hand.
  "If I look like shit then you are also shit,"she said.
"How now?"I asked.
"You are my kid,"she laughed as well walked into our new house."We will be happy here?"
  "Yes,we will,"I confirmed holding her outstretched hand.
I walked to my room to find it painted purple and a queen sized bed.Most of my stuff were in boxes.I decided to unpack them take a quick shower before helping Mariana out.So the huge task began.I emptied the books and clothes on the bed and started sorting them out.Lucky for me mom had gotten me a bookshelf.The clothes went into the wardrobe.Some of the clothes I decided to throw out since that scumbag bought them and also some were small.The books took ages since I didn't want to them out but some of them had to go.
"Honey bug,"Mariana called."What's with those?"
"I want to donate them to the orphange we passed on our way here,"I said as I referred to the clothes."Those?no idea."The books.
"They can go to the home library,"she said as she flipped through them.
"Wait!what?!"I screamed.
"Calm down before our new neighbors think we are nuts or worse under attack,"she laughed.
  "Mariana why didnt you tell me before?"I questioned her.
"I wanted to surprise you,"she said.
"It was nice of you,"I smiled and hugged her.
   "If I knew you could be this sappy,I could have gotten cheated on earlier,"she joked.
"Not funny,Mariana,"I glared at her.
"Sorry,"She smiled."Any who,how is the new town,new house and new bed feeling?"
   I looked at her and studied her features,since she found out about dad's cheating she was walking on eggshells.She didn't let herself be too sad or too happy since then.Even when the divorce came,she was just there.It was like it wasn't her life anymore but right now as she stood in my new bedroom with her hands holding a copy of Kristen Painter,Nocturnal Falls,she was happy and I could see that didn't stress her like it did back there in Rite.Funny how I didn't consider it home anymore.
  "Its wonderful,mom,"I said.I barely called her mom because she said it made her feel old.But from the look in her eyes,I knew she was happy about it.
  "Its Mariana,shorty,"she laughed as she hugged me.And I let her.She was my mom,best friend and my everything.
  "I am definitely not short,Mariana Cooper,"I glared at her after the hug.
"You don't say,"she laughed as she pulled me out of my half done room."Let's go out for dinner,and starving."
