『Emmi's pov』
I stopped at a McDonald's. It's been a few hours and my stomach started to grumble. I hid my face and put on a wig I found on the ground earlier. If people recognize me I'm toast. I took out a few dollars to order from the follow menu. It's gonna be a long trip so I better save my money. I ordered 2 small fries, some nuggets and a smoothie. (idk what's on the dollar menu lol sorry if they don't have this) I scarfed it down like I haven't eaten in hours. Oh wait I haven't.. I quickly finished that.
By now it's been about 9 hours maybe. I should've kept track of time. I've made it really far away from home. I passed a store with tv's in it and I stopped still in my tracks when I saw my face on it. I still had the wig on and I found shades as well and a hoodie over my head. No one would recognize me. I listened to the TV and watched. "BREAKING NEWS" I heard. "Emmi Butler has escaped and no one can find her. We have sent out search parties" some guy said. They were talking about if some one sees me to call the number on the screen immediately. Then my dad talked about how much he missed me. He was always good at acting. No one else could tell if he was acting or not but I always knew. And right now he is. I bet Gavin and Avia actually miss me. Or at least want me home so they can get beat less.
I needed to get far, very far so no one can find me. I can't go back to they terrible life. I took a sip of my water as my throat got dry and tears welled up in my eyes. I felt a tap on my shoulder. I panicked and stiffed up. Without thinking or turning around I bolted out the door. I ran so fast. The fastest I think I ever ran. I got passed two blocks and slowed down and panted. "If only I ran like that when we ran the mile in PE.." I muttered to myself.
