I stumbled along the pavement. Trying to ignore the fact that I cannot handle my alcohol really well, which somehow bothered me.
The light already began to flee the city of suburbia here. I could vaguely focus on those who passed me by; then again, I didn't care much for them at all. I felt myself fall forward a bit but I caught a wall just in time. The wall was rough, seemed like it was made of bricks or at least the outer texture felt like so. My lips, cold and dry, were licked furiously but they wouldn't resume back to their normal status. My small hands, wow very small hands, gripped onto the wall and slid down as I neared the ground. The ground neared me. One of the two, I'm not very sure which is which at the moment.
I felt the hard floor smack my rear and I groaned, not enjoying the sudden strike of pain. My hands released the wall and dropped into my lap. My head laid against the brick.
My view was nothing more than the pub itself. I didn't make it so far did I? I sighed to myself and closed my eyes. The world around me continued to spin and I detested it. Please stay still universe.
After what felt like seconds, a warm hand pressed against the vein in my neck. I grabbed the wrist hard and twisted it around, causing the body connected to it to fall over slightly onto me. I heard a short gasp, maybe a mix of surprise and fear.
Suddenly feeling guilty, I released the hand and smirked with an open grin. "I'm sorry, did that hurt?" I was teasing the individual but my words slurred so often that I genuinely sounded sorry. What a joke.
"Its- it's okay" the person responded, rubbing their wrist. My eyes fluttered open, not needing to adjust them to the darkness that surrounded us. I started to allow my eyes to shut once again.
"hey hey hey" The female voice gently coaxed me and cupped my face with one palm. She turned my face towards her own; "wake up" her voice laced with worry and determination, "no no, don't sleep".
"I'm not sleepy" I tried to slap her hand away.
"Shh- I'm going to get someone" The voice pushed my hand down to my side. Her eyes darted around the area.
"Tessa? Tessa!" The voice called out, desperately. "Yes?" This voice was farther, caught off-guard.
The girl's eyes widened at me and begged for her to come assist.
The scampering of footsteps rang in my ears which caused me to cover them and groan under my breath.
"How do you know me?" The older voice asked, now closer and defensive. I assume this was how it went.
"We're in physics and biology together" She turned her head back towards me. "Well... were".
"Spencer, right?"
The girl kneeling beside me nodded and ripped the flashlight out of Tessa's loose grip.
"Hey!"
"I'm trying to help someone. Can you shut up? Thanks" Spencer responded.
