Blood and shattered pieces of last night's mistake surrounded me.

I awoke feeling different. A bit rejuvenated yet false.

A monster growled in my stomach and I rolled off the bed which was untouched by the destruction.

I rubbed my eyes and jumped over the broken pieces. I skipped down to the kitchen and ate some applesauce and a banana. Something that would keep me satisfied for a bit. I could hear kids shouting outside. It was quite frustrating. Shaking my head, I ran back upstairs to change into something that wasn't laced in whatever happened. I slid on some black leggings, a loose faded red dress, a long faded green jacket, and black boots. Using my parents' mirror to inspect myself, I nodded and forced a grin.

"I have to be more nice today. That's how everyone makes friends, right? Playing nice? Oh I despise this" I muttered to myself, taking the challenge to speak to others. Isn't that how people make a difference? No one has truly made a change behind a desk. Scientists who found cures must've spoken to people to spread the cure. Right? I damn well hope so. This isn't going to end well. Perhaps I don't want it to end well.

My feet wandered without much thought out the front and I allowed the door to lock behind me, thinking I can use the code for the garage when I returned.

The sun, though blocked by the strange dome, still beat on my head. A beating that fails to compare to the beatings I earned at my uncle's house. That's not something anyone should know nor something I want to remember. I forced a grin to block out my thoughts but suddenly that false smile failed.

A group of boys were laughing, moving towards me. One of them turned around facing me, then pointed, shouting something so grammatically incorrect that my brain could not comprehend it. They started to rush towards me. I raised an eyebrow at them, trying not to reach for the gun I hid inside the jacket. It was too humid for this bloody outfit. I should attempt to find a working air conditioner or building with such thing. They slowed down as they approached me. I halted with a blank expression.

"Hey bitch, give us shit or we'll fucking beat you to death" The tallest one said, just barely standing over me. He was quite obese. It was obvious his parents would shove a bar of soap in his mouth every time a swear would leave his tongue. He took advantage of their absence.

"What kind of shit?" I decided to play along.

The oaf that just spoke smirked at his entourage and adjusted the silver bat that laid on his shoulder.

"What do you have?"

"Oh I don't have anything at all" I stated bluntly and forced a grin, knowing it would aggravate them.

"Ah just beat the bitch up!" Another kid, blonde with blue eyes who looked to be the other's second in command, piped up.

"Yeah beat the bitch up Zil!" The rest of the entourage started yelling, raising their clubs, bats, and pipes or whatever else they had. They looked to their leader with admiration.

The brown eye and brown haired leader looked at his second in command with wide eyes. I don't believe he was ready for their complete allegiance. The second in command smirked and raised his chin and nodded. Silent words were communicated between them. Zil turned back to me with a more confident expression.

I believe this would be the best time to make a stand. Maybe they will remember me. I will make them remember me. My felt my lips curl on one side into a sinister grin as I reached into my jacket and pulled out my pistol.

Zil's silver bat was about to strike my skull as I pulled the trigger, firing a bullet into the kid beside him who seemed a bit younger.

He stopped and looked at the kid wide-eyed. I shot him in the lower abdomen. The blond-y next to him looked shock; his once cool stature faulted and became one of fear. This is what happens to arrogant people. The higher they believe to be, the harder they crash in both a physical and mental state
