This car ride has been...interesting, to say the least.

No one spoke, Harry's chain smoked about 5 cigarettes and Jess has been mumbling along to the music on the radio any chance she got.

I, on the other hand, have kept absolutely quiet. Lost in my thoughts, staring out the window.

I've not been able to get what Harry said out of my mind, the fact he's not going to let me speak to anyone?

The way he told Jess to not let me speak to anyone, like I'm some kind of pet.

Harrys gotten me very wrong, and I think I've let him push me around a little too much.

There's no way in hell I'm going to let this happen anymore.

I've let people do this to me most of my life, if anyone thinks they are going to do that on my second chance I have here. They are very mistaken.

Being in control of your life is something that's always taken for granted, but half the time you're not in control. You can't stop things from happening, you learn to deal with it.

And that's what I've been doing pretty much every single day I've been alive for, always letting other people be in control, telling me what to do, how to act, what to say, who to talk to.

I always end up in situations I don't want to be in, and that can be blamed on the fact I'm a people pleaser. I let people do whatever the fuck they want to me. I never stop, I never say no.

I moved to New York for another chance, to become a better me. To forget everything that happened back at home.

So far, it hasn't been going the greatest, but that stops today.

I'm not being anyone's pushover anymore, especially not Harry's.

The car makes a halt, stopping outside a pair of tall, black metal gates. They start to slowly open in front of the car.

My eyes widen at the sight, never having a chance to see anything this fancy before.

Harry clears his throat as he notices my expression, I snap my head towards him, mouth hung open in shock.

"Are you seeing this?!" I squeal, sounding a little too excited.

Jess lets out a giggle from the back seat. "Sure am! Fancy right?"

"I've never seen anything like this!"

Harry scoffs, starting to roll the car into the driveway of this place.

I'm rolling my eyes on the inside.

The car comes to a halt, these people must have money.

There are palm trees covering the entire front yard of this place, almost disguising it.

It has to be some kind of mansion, there are pillars holding up the front of the building, with multiple staircases leading up to the entrance.

All covered in marbled stone, with the biggest oak coloured front door I have ever seen. There's a rooftop balcony which leans over the front of the house, allowing anyone who stands there a perfect view of the surrounding land.

Does someone live here? Or it could just be rented out for these kinds of events.

The driveway is lined with multiple expensive looking cars, loads of people getting out of them and making their way to the entrance.

Harry pulls his car into a spot, pulling up the hand break and popping open his door. I follow his lead and jump out of the car, making sure I've gathered all my things.
