Brittany's PROV

I sink down in my uncomfortable waiting room chair watching the clock tick by. I rest my left hand over my 9 week bump. I honestly can't believe it. I can't believe I am pregnant and I am gonna have a child with the love of my life. I look down at my barely noticeable bump. I feel a soft, strong, muscular hand reach for mine. I smile has our fingers interlock. I turn my head and look into his dark majestic brown eyes. Trevor smiles down at me. "Are you excited babe?" He asks me calmly. "Oh yeah I am," I laugh. "I get to hear our baby's heartbeat for the first time and see her". "Her?" Trev asks confused. "Yeah I have a feeling it is a girl". I say confidently. He chuckles "okay" he says simply. Trevor takes his other hand and gently places it on my stomach. "Your so lucky you get to meet this little guy before me" he whines. "I sorry but it ain't my fault the mother gets to hear the baby's heart beating first" I chuckle

(A/n: I know this doesn't happen in real life, I know the father can the same time as the mother but let's just say not in this story)

Finally what feels like hours I hear my name. "Brittany Tordjman?" I look up and see a sweet young woman. I stand up and give Trevor a kiss. "Good luck" he whispers against my lips making my shiver at the feel of his breath on my lips. "Thanks" I say pulling away. I walk over to the lady, she has a clip board in her hand. "Hi Brittany, I'm Charlotte. If you would like to follow me right this way," Charlotte says sweetly. "Ok thanks Charlotte" I reply nodding. We walk down a small corridor with wooden plain doors either side of us. We enter a big-ish room. There is a bed, a computer with a scanner and a chair. Seeing the scanner is making it feel even more real. "Right Brittany if you would like to just take a seat on the bed" she tells me leading me kindly to the bed. "Thank you". "How many weeks were you when you found out you were pregnant?" She asks. "Umm I was about 2 weeks according to the test" I reply. She nods and writes that down. We chat about my pregnancy so far and if I have a experienced anything out of the ordinary. "Have you had any pains at all?" She asks me. I begin to get a bit worried. You see recently about 5 weeks into my pregnancy i started to get cramps but they went and only now they have started to come back.

I explain to her about the pains. "Ok, well there is no need to panic it can be just be your body getting use to the pregnancy" she told me. That relaxed me for sure. We continued to talk for a bit. "Right Brittany, please lie down on the bed and lift up your top for me" I do as she says and lift up my top revealing my baby bump.

She puts the cold gel on my abdomen. It makes me shiver but I quickly relax. She tells me to look at the TV that was on the wall. I look and see a tiny blob, I get tears in my eyes seeing the little human wiggling inside of me. She plays the heartbeat. I record it on my phone so I can show my husband later. I have instantly fallen in love with this baby. I can't wait to meet it. After about 10 minutes of me looking at my child and Charlotte pointing things out to me. I don't know why but I have a feeling something is wrong. Just the way Charlotte spoke to me after playing the heartbeat, it was the sound of worry and fear that trembled from her voice. She wipes the gel of my belly so I can pull my shirt down. "Brittany, when you said that you had pains" she began slowly. "What type of pains would you describe them as?". I think for a minute before replying. "I would say like Period Cramps" she nods slowly. Before she pauses for a while. The silence that filled the room wasn't comfortable yet wasn't exactly tense either. The quietness caused me to get anxious and feared for the worse.
