Hawks was having a bad day. It started with getting up ridiculously early (about 7 am) after going to sleep at an unreasonable time (about 3 am) because of stupid Dabi making their meeting time stupidly late. And as if that wasn't enough, his tics were acting up and he had patrol to go on, which meant hours of suppressing with only brief breaks when he was high in the air where no one could see.

Now normally this in itself wouldn't be bad, he'd dealt with a lot worse and he'd also dealt with this situation many times before. But today was slightly different in that he had just gotten a text from Dabi saying the league invited him to hang out. Don't get him wrong this is a great thing except they want to meet right after his 8 hour patrol, you know, the one he has to suppress for almost the entire time for. but it's fine, he can do this, he's had interview and other stuff he had to sit still for after patrol before and he did fine, given he usually had decent sleep or a moderate tic day if not both, but it'd be fine.

So here he is, right after patrol in front of a run down looking building that looked mostly abandoned. He took a deep breath, trying to ignore the uncomfortable tingle in his neck, and knocks a specific pattern. The door opens almost immediately, Dabi's scarred face being the first thing he sees. Hawks smiles and Dabi scoffs and steps aside to let him in.

The sight of the bar is more familiar now than it was a few months ago, when meetings with the league were still new and weird. but now hawks honestly feels more comfortable here than he does in front of most of the hero commissions agents.

He greets everyone then goes to sit down on one of the stools where his wings can hang loose. Shigaraki was playing video games as always, toga was in a passionate conversation with Spinner about sharp and pointy things with Twice listening, Kurogiri was behind the bar wiping an already clean glass, Mr. Compress is practicing his slight of hand and Dabi has just sat down next to him.

"How was patrol, birdy?" Suddenly and without any warning Hawks' head twitches violently to the side then a high pitched and loud chirp echoes through the room. His hand flies to his mouth to prevent it from making any more traitorous noises. Everyone is looking at him now.

" Um, are you ok?" Dabi asks. "Aww, I didn't know you could chirp, that's so cute!" Toga exclaims. Hawks tries to respond but all that comes out is another head twitch, a shoulder toss and a loud "Bitch!" Everyone around is unsure what is happening and hawks is barely keeping it together. The pressure in his neck is building and the only thing he can get out before it becomes too much is a stuttered " Tics" Then he is in the middle of the worst tic attack he's had since the commission decided to test out how far they could push him before he was forced to let out his tics.

He registers Dabi trying to stop him from hitting himself at some point but he backs away after Kurogiri tells him that's a bad thing to do. One of the rarer tics makes his wings drop like dead weight and suddenly he's falling backwards and off the stool. Dabi manages to save him from some nasty bruising by catching him last second, gently depositing him on the floor. Hawks stays there, a chirping, whistling, swearing, twitching mess on the floor.

It takes what feels like hours but is likely under 20 minutes for his tics to calm down to manageable level, but at that point he is already more that exhausted. He lays there for a moment wondering how badly the commission is going to punish him for breaking the 'no ticcing in front of people' rule when he is gently pulled up into sitting position.

Dabi's worried face is now level with his, everyone else standing around him in concern. A clicking sound comes from hawks' mouth then "bitch" and then he's patting Dabi's head. Surprisingly, Dabi allows it, even tough hawks knows he hates physical touch.

"Are you feeling better now?" Kurogiri asks. Hawks nods, rubbing his sore neck. "Tired" Is his short answer. "There's a spare room you can use in the back." Kurogiri says as he hands him a glass of water. He has to switch hands and aggressively shakes out his right one before he downs the whole thing then sets the glass on the floor next to him before he can drop it.

The thought of flying back home immediately leaves him the second it crosses his mind, body too exhausted to do so and even taking a cab back right now sounds like it'd take way too much energy so he diligently follows the mist covered man passed several rooms that looked quite lived in and they stop at a plain room with only a bed with a few blankets and a nightstand. After thanking the man, he plops down on the bed, not even bothering with the covers and promptly passes out.
