Am I too small for the city or is the city too big for me? That's a mystery I might not unravel. Because what is to unravel, when the answer lies upfront.

It is pretense that gives me the luxury to see another dawn, and not answers. So I do not scout for them.

Lost in between clothes too capacious for me, I take in a deep breath and step in. Inside is a different telltale, the sight in front giggles another story, with a crooked smile and a bent neck. Not so gentle, not so kind.

There is an eerie silence and it reminds me of the calm before the storm. Everything is set neatly, the humans too.
Well dressed and we'll positioned, each lost in their work. Unaware of the human existance beyond their office, but I guess that is what we call dedication? In the adult world atleast.

I amble towards the reception area, from afar I scan in the entire room until my eyes set on a semi circle hazel wood desk, labelled as 'information desk'.

Pushing my legs a little more I reach the desk, clearing my throat I inquire from the man behind the desk.

" I'm here to meet Theodore Luca. Can you please guide me to his cabin? "

" And you are? " He questions, typing furiously on the keyboard. The disturbance of the finger strike against the digits echoes in my ears.

" Luna. " I reply forcing a slight smile for the sake of being polite but it soon vanishes away when his head jets in my direction abruptly, stopping him from the task at hand.

" So... you are her." He comments, pointing his finger at me. What does he mean by her?

" The boss was made aware about you, and let's just say it wasn't a pleasant sight to see. "He further remarks, making me furrow my brows in confusion.

" Theodore's office is on the 25 floor, first room to the left. " He finally spits out the important part.

I nod in acknowledgment before spinning around to head towards the designated destination. But before I can leave the reception area I hear the man's voice again.

" If I were you, and I loved my peace just a little, I would walk away. You are on the boss's radar. " He warns, yet again I play my game of pretense.

Choice choices, oh the lack of choices!

Engulfed in the despairs of reality I ponder and ponder about the solutions, only pushing myself further in the loophole that is until I feel the crash, a hard surface yet somehow warm?

I look up, cranking my neck a little to cover up the height difference. Only to be met with ocean blue eyes, a storm brewing within them.

But something about them makes the concept of drowning, a little too appeasing.

"Ocean blue eyes, looking in mine. I feel like I might sink and drown and die.

Before I can even muster up an apology I'm slammed with a rude remark.

" You seem to have eyes. Start using them. " He utters, muttering out a throaty grumble, making my knees go weak. He paces on, not even sparing me a glimpse.

He strides away with such confidence that his entire aura screams money and authority. He moved around the office hallways as if he was the sole owner of it. Could he be Atticus Luca?

The thought alone sends shivers down my spine. But no he can't be that. Atticus Luca is a grumpy old man with a belly fatter than the blue whale.

Pushing away my intrusive thoughts I finally reach Theodore's office. Knocking twice, I hear no reply so I decide to barge in.
