"Good Morning, Angela!!!" I heard that familiar voice downstairs. Ugh, its Lyle, my bestfriend since we were I guess 3 years old. I'm seventeen so I think we've been bestfriends for 14 years. And I think I'm in love with him for since we were fifteen, so that's 2 years. Long, huh?

"Shut up, will you? You're waking the neighbors!" I was in a half-shout, half-whisper state. And oh, didn't I mention this? Majority of our neighbors aren't morning persons.

Anyways, I got up and watched the alarm clock above my drawer. Just beside my bed. It's still so early. 5:30 in the morning. I sat near the foot of my bed, thinking what would it be like to be loved back by him. Am I daydreaming early in the morning? I guess I am.

I went down, after showering, and the first person I see is Lyle.

"Angela, your mom really makes delicious bacons," he complimented. "It really tastes different from  common bacons," he smiled, with his mouth full of it.

"Heh, delicious eh? Yeah right. Typical. And Lyle, they aren't homemade, okay?" I said, amused.

"But it really taste different!" he shouted.

"Oh my, you have different taste buds! Mr. Alien, please get out of his body! I promise, you're really going to regret it if you stay longer!" I was holding back my laugh. He's so cute when I make fun of him.

"Haha, very funny," he said, smirking.

"Yeah, right."

"Oh sorry Ange, I didn't mean to offend you or something," he said in his baby voice.

"And tell me, why would I be offended?" I smiled.

"Maybe because I ate half of your breakfast?" he raised an eyebrow, with a cute smile in his lips.

"Wha-"

"Just kidding! I'll never eat that, you might kill me. Unless you're willing to give it to me," he wiggled his eyebrows.

"No way, I'm hungry. And I need energy for today's activity."

"And what is that?"

"I'm going to co-" I stopped halfway of the word.

Shoot! Did I almost say confess? Goonies!

"I'm going to come up with different ideas about our lessons," I said, literally showing confidence, which really didn't hide my nervousness.

"Ideas, eh? About our lessons?" he asked me suspiciously.

"Ye-yeah, you know, its almost the end of classes so I need brainstorming," I smiled. "Let's go," I stood up.

"Do you mind brushing your teeth? It smells like spoiled food!" he laughed.

I put my hand in front of my mouth and breathed out to catch the "smell". It doesn't.

"Look who's talking. I already brushed my teeth after I showered. Duh," I rolled my eyes.

"Okay.. sure. Let's go," he grabbed my hand and instantly I felt an electric shock going through my blood vessels. Is that even possible?

----------

We slid inside his car, with our preoccupied thoughts. We never felt awkward when we are together, only if we talk about mature things.

"Look, Ange. I like this girl and I really really want her to talk to me. But I'm shy. Can you do me a favor, please?" he looked at me.

"Uh, and what is it that I'm going to do?" I asked with a husky voice. It's not obvious that I was hurt, right?

"I want you to talk to her and introduce me. Good shots can do," he smiled, and I felt a tingling pain, in my chest.

"Good shots? You mean you want me to tell her positive things about you?" I asked, hurt.

"Yeah, something like that. But please, don't ruin it." he told me.

After all these years that we've been bestfriends, how can he ask me that? I mean, I won't do anything that's going to hurt him. I don't wish for that. I wish for his happiness, even if it hurts.

"I'm your bestfriend. Why would I ruin it? I'm not that bad," I forced a smile, and looked away.

"Thanks, Ange! I'm grateful to be your bestfriend and I would really appreciate it," he hugged me.

I gave a nod but didn't try to meet his eyes.

-------

We arrived in school and went to our own ways. I have other friends, but my closest is Sandy. She's been my friend since we were freshmen. You know, the kind of teenage girls that are new to mature things awaiting.

Since Sandy's locker is beside mine, I had a feeling that she's there. Oh yeah, I know the back of her head. I can easily recognize her by that.

"Sandy!" she looked back and I guess she didn't see me.

I called again, "Sandy!"

"Who keeps on calling me?"

I smiled at that line. "Me," I smiled at her.

"You sure didn't recognize my voice," I commented.

"Yeah. It has mixture of words unsaid," she stated.

"What are you?" I threw a narrowed look at her.

"I'm a human, of course silly," she rolled her eyes.

She's the only person that knows that I'm in love with Lyle. I can't bear telling people that secret.

I sighed,'"Lyle asked me to help him," I looked down.

"Help him with what?"

"He likes someone and he wants me to help him talk to her."

She whispered, "Isn't that painful in your part?"

"I know," I whispered back. "But I want don't him to mourn over a girl, just because he doesn't get the chance to talk to her," I sighed again.

"Yeah Angela, you never change. You always want what's the best for other people, and you don't even care for yourself."

"I guess that's right." We hears the bell ring. "Let's go. I think we have a hard day ahead of us."

Do you like it? Really people, I'm confused whether to use past or present tenses.
