In-N-Out is where Sofía McCall is supposed to be right now, enjoying a nice fattening burger with Stiles and his dad before heading home to watch a movie with the rest of the crazy bunch. However, she isn't there, and neither Stilinski men know why.
Sheriff Stilinski's squad car is parked outside the restaurant, normally the two men would be more excited to eat their food, especially as the Sheriff has been put on a gruelling diet thanks to his son. But he isn't enjoying it as much since Stiles is sulking in next to him because the girl that he's in love with didn't show.
Normally Noah would be cussing the woman out, telling his son that she isn't worth it, but he's known Sofía since she was little and she's never been one to just ditch someone, especially not Stiles and even if his son can't see it, the blonde clearly returns his feelings, even if she doesn't know it yet.
"Mmm" Stilinski half moans forgetting how good a burger is, not to mention that the only reason he's allowed to be eating fast food is down to Sofía as it was her idea.
Stiles tries to ignore the betrayal and hurt in his stomach that Sofía not only didn't show up but didn't even bother to text him. Maybe she forgot, he thinks as he pulls out his own meal.
"Did they forget my curly fries?" Noah asks mid chomp on his burger, he speaks with his mouth full, food close to spilling out.
"You're not supposed to eat fries, especially the curly ones" Stiles looks at his dad briefly before focusing on sorting out his own food.
"Well, I'm carrying a lethal weapon. If I want the curly fries, I will have the curly fries" Stilinski says his voice full of sarcasm, even if he's still got a mouthful, he is angry at his son for trying to tell him what to do.
"If you think getting rid of contractions in all your sentences makes your argument any more legitimate, you. are. wrong" Stiles responds sarcastically, picking up his drink and looking at his father unimpressed, his dad looks over at him slightly shocked whilst Stiles just chuckles in response.
"Are we gonna talk about it?" the sheriff asks after a moment of silence, knowing that the lack of presence in the air is slightly unsettling.
"She didn't show up, and she didn't answer her phone either. Dad she clearly doesn't want to be here" Stiles says with a sigh, the feeling of rejection welling up inside him again.
"That doesn't sound like Sofía, and you know it" Noah says but before anything else can be added the police radio beeps loudly.
"Unit one, do you copy?" The dispatchers voice speaks up. Stiles looks up excitement clear in his eyes as he tries to sip his drink and pick up the radio only to have his hand smacked by his father who clears his throat. Stiles leans back whilst his dad stares at him unimpressed.
"...Sorry" Stiles apologises shaking his head as his dad reaches for the radio.
"Unit one, copy" Noah says into the radio whilst Stiles shovels as many curly fries into his mouth as he possibly can.
