"Where is she? I ask.
"I'm sorry..." Cara responds
"Sorry about what?? Tell us what happened!" Christina yells.
"Tris went into the weapons lab instead of Caleb. She survived the death serum, and set off the memory serum, but she... she was shot. She's in surgery now, but that's all I know. I'm so sorry."
Most of the time I can tell when people are lying, and this must be a lie. There's no way Tris can be hurt, she wouldn't go in the Weapons Lab instead of Caleb. Its when I see Cara's eyes well up with tears I realize that's exactly what Tris would do. I know I need to go to the hospital and go check on her, but I'm so afraid of the news I might get that all I'm doing is standing still.
