Okay so this story has the typical werewolf elements in it but I added my own twists so I came up with this pointer to help you understand just in case I forget to add these little snippets of information and leave everyone confused at some point. I might also update this list/chapter every once in a while if I come up with something new. See, I'm about as clueless about what's gonna happen next as ya'll are because this story is a work in progress so yup!
-Basically werewolves, vampires and witches exist. Either that or all the characters in this story are bonkers. teehee
-Werewolves first shift at age 14.
-Werewolves will be able to detect their mates at age 16 onwards. The usual age to find one's mate is 18 and not finding your mate beyond 20 is highly unlikely.
-There's this thing called pack rank. It's determined based on the strength and size of the pack. The highest attainable rank is 1 and the lowest is 5 with only one pack ranked 1 per continent.
-Each pack has a couple of titles given to their members: The alpha being the pack leader, beta as the second in command, gamma as the third in command, luna as the alpha's female equal meaning they share the same power over the pack, the elders who are valued for their knowledge, the healer also known as the pack doctor, and the omegas who are shamed for being the weakest members of the pack. Some packs however, aren't losers who discriminate and would rather refuse using the said label.
-Lead titles can only be handed down to wolves aged 18 and above meaning one must also be at least 18 to challenge an alpha and replace him.
-Rogues are either looked down upon or seen as a threat.
-She-wolves start experiencing heat at age 18 and continue to do so every first day of the month up until they are mated or turn 30. Know that most she-wolves would've found their mate and been mated by 18 or soon after so there isn't a large number of females who go through heat. Absolute relief can only be offered by their mate but contact with other males help some.
-Besides combat, another way to determine a wolf's strength is through their fur color. The usual fur color for males are black, brown, and red with the pure black wolves being the strongest and also rarest(mostly Alphas), pure brown being the average and most common, and the pure red wolves being the weakest. As for the women, the strongest and rarest is white instead of black followed by brown and red.
-Every other century, a she-wolf with pure black fur is born. There's no prophecy or anything, really. She just happens to be stronger than most wolves. Could've been a joke created by the moon goddess, watching male wolves fight over her for power or there could be some hidden purpose or whatever, who knows? *wink wink* (just kidding, I dunno either. Still trying to figure this out)
-Also please keep in mind that the wolf and their human equivalent are two entirely separate beings meaning having different thoughts, opinions, attitude and personality, likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses, and such but are sharing the same body.
So basically pure black wolves are a fucking gem because they're slightly rare and powerful and whatnot. Hence the title "Lupo Nero", Italian for Black Wolf. Or Wolf Black. Or something. I dunno. I know I'm lame. I just used google translate so I'm not even sure if it's right *cough someone please verify this and save me from further embarrassment cough* I was gonna call my story "Wolf" because nothing would come to mind so I guess we're gonna have to be happy with Lupo whatever for a while.
That's it I think. Happy reading!
