I hissed as the first few rays of light made their way through my window and straight to my closed eyes. I had forgotten to draw the curtains back again. I groaned as I turned on my side, away from the glaring sun, and snuggled deeper into the mess that is my sheets in an attempt to go back to sleep.
Not five minutes later, I heard the door to my room creak open and a light set of footsteps made its way to my bed. That same undetectable but nonetheless irresistible scent that I have grown used to made its way through my nose as the footsteps got closer. I whined in disapproval as the sheets were gently peeled off me. I opened one eye to see Daniel smile as he got on the bed and settled on the space right beside me before pulling the sheets over us. He wrapped his toned arms around my waist and tangled his legs with mine as he lifted his head to kiss my temple. I was yet to get used to the static that surrounded my body every time I made contact with him. I prayed every night for that day to never come.
"Happy first anniversary, love." My mate flashed his heartbreakingly beautiful smile down on me. My heart leapt at the sight. Dammit, this guy is trying to kill me. Have I mentioned that I'm a sucker for smiles?
I smiled in response as I pushed myself closer towards him, wanting more of that buzz of electricity that hummed on every inch of my skin that touched his. What was I supposed to say anyways? Happy anniversary to you too? Thanks? Okay? Unfortunately, finding my mate didn't change my awkwardness with expressing romantic feelings through words.
He chuckled in response. God I loved that sound. "As much as I'd love to just stay indoors and spend the whole day cuddling with you while eating pizza and watching Gossip Girl reruns," Believe it or not, the guy loved Chuck Bass more than I did. At some point, I thought he was gay. "I set up a special date for you today. I want this day to be as perfect as possible for you, love." He tenderly kissed the top of my head this time, his tone softening on the last sentence.
How did I get so fucking lucky?
I grumbled a "fine" before pulling his lips down on mine. He simply chuckled in response before kissing me back with just as much passion. I prayed to whatever higher being was out there for the sensations that came with kissing him to never vanish. My hands snaked up his strong arms, through his broad shoulders, and tangled behind his neck before making it's way through his blonde locks, pulling at them as he groaned in pleasure. He tightened his hold on me before turning us so that I was on top of him with each leg on either side of his hips. I snapped out of the trance I was in just as I felt his member poking the inside of my thigh.
I pulled away just as the kiss got more intense as we got carried away.
"You're gonna have to wait two more years for that." I said as I pointed at the forming tent on his sweat pants. He grumbled and muttered a few incoherent words as he hid under one of my pillows, covering the blush that was forming on his cheeks.
I chuckled and made my way towards the bath room. Sometimes I wonder who the younger one really is.
"I'll see you downstairs in an hour, babe. You better not go back to sleep!" He said over his shoulder as he hurried on his way out my room.
<---------->
I hummed in contentment after submerging my body in the tub's hot water.
I found my mate exactly a year ago. I was confused at first. Wasn't Embry my mate? And how could I have determined him at the age of fifteen? All doubts flew out the window, however, when he came rushing towards me and pulled me into his arms while chanting "Unbelievable", sniffing my scent every once in a while, and sporting the biggest smile I've ever seen. Mind you, I was a stinky wolf who hadn't taken a bath in two months and purposely rolled around mud puddles to hide my fur color. There was probably dried blood around my mouth as well from the deer earlier that morning. Now if that's not true love, I don't know what is. I decided that maybe being able to detect my mate at an earlier age was just another perk that came with being a female wolf with black fur. They really should come up with a term for that, it ruins my monologue.
