Hunter was really beginning to question how reliable Cid's Intel was.

He was taking point, leading Ahsoka and Omega back to the Marauder whilst picking off any pirates who got too close. They were running across a series of connected rooftops, trying to lose the pirate gang who had been chasing them from the city centre.

Funnily enough, at no point during the briefing did Cid even mention pirates.

If she had, Hunter would've insisted that Omega stayed on the ship. She had only come along because they weren't supposed to encounter any resistance.

"So much for an in-and-out job," Hunter muttered, taking out two more pirates ahead of them. They were almost fully surrounded at this point. He pressed his comm, "Where are you, Tech? We need pick-up, ASAP!"

"We are on our way," Tech replied, "We'll be at the rendezvous in three minutes."

"Copy that."

The rendezvous was a few buildings further. Glancing over the edge of the rooftop, Hunter could only just make out the streets below. The wind howled around him, making it harder to remain orientated.

There was a sharp cry behind him, followed quickly by Omega's shout, "Ahsoka!"

Spinning around, Hunter saw the Togruta grab the back of her arm where a lucky shot had burned her flesh. He leveled his pistol, aiming inches from Ahsoka's montrals, and fired a live round.

With a grunt, the pirate fell to the ground.

Hunter sighed with relief, waiting for the others to catch up. There were more pirates gaining on them- they seemed to be multiplying. If Tech didn't hurry up, they would end up in a standoff.

He met Ahsoka's eyes as she skidded to a stop. She'd suffered worse than a shot before, but he wanted to check anyway. "You good?"

"Marvellous," she replied, "Really enjoying the scenery."

He smiled at her dry wit beneath his helmet, most likely influenced by Skywalker's sense of humour. The moment didn't last long. They needed to get to the Marauder before the other pirates closed in on them.

"Come on," Hunter urged.

Dodging blaster bolts, Hunter carefully walked across a thin pipe that connected two buildings. Ahsoka could've jumped the gap, but Hunter and Omega would have to go the old-fashioned way.

It creaked under his weight, and suddenly he was glad that Wrecker hadn't joined them for this mission. The man's fear of heights was his biggest weakness at times.

"Careful, Omega," Hunter said firmly, extending a hand as the girl stepped onto the pipe. Ahsoka waited to go last, supporting Omega until she was steady.

"Eyes up," she advised as Omega began to place one foot in front of the other.

She was agile, but she wasn't specially trained like Hunter and Ahsoka. The pipe was only a few inches wide and six metres long. With the wind only growing stronger, she had to hold out her arms to stay balanced.

Almost there, Hunter thought, not wanting to speak in case he threw her off. He extended his hand, heartbeat thumping in his ears.

And then, when she was almost at the other side, the pipe let out a defeated groan.

Omega's eyes met his, wide with terror, and a scream was ripped from her lungs as the pipe broke.

Hunter snatched forwards, hoping to grab her arm or her clothes. Hell, he'd even grab her hair if he had to, but he was too slow.
