Looks like Sylvie is going to humiliate Geist. Thanks for commenting last chapter everyone! Don't worry, Elijah and the others will get their badass moment in future chapters too XD

"He actually came to class?"

"Tch. That commoner is getting cocky just because he's the captain of the Disciplinary Committee."

"I thought for sure he'd be abusing his position to skip."

Arthur sighed, exasperated at the murmurs directed at him. Granted, there were a few mutters from the girls complimenting his appearance. The guys' complaints were far greater though. The boy knew the nobles were completely displeased by the fact he was in a position of power, but couldn't they have been more subtle in their pointless complaining?

Now, Arthur wasn't mad.

Annoyed? Yes.

Mad? Not really.

He understood how the typical noble mind thinks, so he already expected this kind of treatment. Sometimes Arthur wondered if he was a masochist for verbal abuse when he could easily deal with the problem by showing off his abilities as a quadra-elemental.

Maybe Cynthia was right...

'Nah.'

"I know you're strong, Papa, but don't be too overconfident! Some of them might give you a run for your coins because of your restrictions." Sylvie chided when she heard his dismissive thought.

Arthur shrugged his shoulders, heading over to the seat beside his best friend. "You worry too much, Sylve. You know I've been training and messing around with my wind and earth magic. I think I can deal with them if the basics and my swordplay aren't enough."

"You think?"

Cutting off their mental link, Arthur ignored Sylvie's half-lidded gaze as he sat next to Elijah.

"What I missed?" He whispered to his best friend.

His question was met by a grin, causing both Arthur and Sylvie to sweatdrop.

"Before you came in, a few girls were talking to me earlier! I guess being in the DC has that kind of perk~"

"I expected as much." Art rolled his eyes with a smile. "Black is a good color on you, I guess."

"You guess? Come on, Art! Black is a really good color for me. I think I might find myself a girlfriend in no time!"

Arthur didn't expect a cool uniform and the position of the DC would give Elijah that much confidence. But hey, if he manages to find happiness, who was he to judge him? His best friend could have all the ladies' attention; Art already has-

The auburn-haired boy groaned inwardly, cutting himself off before he could complete that thought. He literally just arrived in the classroom, and his thoughts were drifting back to his childhood friend again!

Somehow the realization was embarrassing... It wasn't unpleasant but still...

'Get yourself together, Arthur...'

While he mentally chastised himself, the professor had already entered the room as he proceeded with the lesson.

The lesson wasn't boring, but Arthur could only put half his attention into the class. He was still sorting out the messed-up state of his thoughts. Sylvie, of course, could hear them loud and clear but chose not to tease her Papa.
