Chapter 5 - Sarnai
Gaining consciousness, I found myself standing in a park. I looked around and saw a building nearby. I could see children running around and/or eating.
'This must be one of Isabella's memories.' I thought to myself as the last thing I remember was getting home with a headache and passing out on the bed because of sudden exhaustion.
After walking through the playground, I came near a bunch of kids talking with one another.
"Why are you black?". One of the children asked as she looked at the blonde girl up and down. Even though the little blonde girl wouldn't even be considered black.
I understand the confusion that the children had when they saw a very dark blonde girl in front of them. I mean, they're kids so their ignorance is justifiable.
"Nini, don't get too close to her, you might get dirty". However, looking at the receiving end of their remarks, stood a small figure tightening her small hands into a fist.
Soon after, I notice a small girl in pigtails sitting on a swing, glaring their way.
"You're noisy." She said as she looked at the small bullies.
'That must be Isabella.' It was easy to recognize her even if she was a kid. Isabella had thick black hair and eyes that people would often mistake as glaring at them.
"We're not that loud, besides we're far from you!" As if offended, the small boy shouted.
"Are you really going to waste recess chit chatting instead of eating or playing?" The small girl on the swings sighed and continued talking.
"Oh no, look at that, there's only ten minutes left!" She pretended to look at her non-existent wristwatch and the small kids, easily fooled, was shocked and ran inside the school building. Probably to take their food and eat immediately or play around.
"Idiots." The small girl whispered to herself as she saw the backs of the kids disappearing into the building. The blonde girl on the other hand just stared at her with teary eyes.
"You, what are you staring at?" Noticing that the teary-eyed girl was now staring at her, she felt uncomfortable.
"WAAHH!" The blonde then girl started crying and bawling her eyes out. The girl with pigtails looked alarmed and panicky as she didn't know what to do.
"H-hey did I say something wrong? Stop crying." She stood up and walked near the crying girl trying to calm her down.
"Ms. Iris is totally gonna scold me if you continue that." The blonde girl stopped her wailing and was now just sobbing and hiccupping.
"I'm Isabella, you?" After calming her down, Isabella asked the girl's name.
"S-sarnai." She said as she hiccupped and wiped her snot from her face.
Although Isabella was visibly disgusted by the snotty girl, she just continued to pat her back, consoling her.
'This was the memory of their first meeting.' Dreaming of it in a third point of view, it felt as if I was watching a short film.
The two children started to fade, and so did the surrounding area, indicating that this was the end of the memory.

Finally opening my eyes, the first thing I see was the light from outside the window reflected on the white ceiling.
