𝑅𝑂𝐵𝐼𝑁 𝐻𝐴𝐷 𝑇𝑂 𝐶𝑂𝑀𝐸 up with an excuse as to why she wasn't at home this morning, which wasn't too difficult. She couldn't exactly say that she was kidnapped and held hostage by a major drug dealer that she then murdered, so her plan was to say there was a work emergency. Robin made sure to pick a job as an alibi that required a lot of secrecy so Charlie and Jane couldn't really ask about it since she couldn't really talk about it.

Robin had quite literally just walked through the door. She closed it behind her and let out a breath of exhaustion. She saw Jane standing in her kitchen just reading a magazine while leaning on the counter. She perked up once she heard the door. "Oh, you're home."

"Hi, Jane." Robin greeted as she dropped her blazer and briefcase on the chair in the living room. "Where were you this morning? Charlie was really upset that you weren't here."

"I know, I should've left a note or something. There was an emergency that I had to deal with." Robin explained as she leaned on the other side of the counter. "Oh, you and your bodyguard shit. That job sounds so serious."

"Yeah, but it pays well." Jane shrugged her shoulders, knowing that Robin had been doing pretty well with keeping up with regular bills and hospital bills.

"Charlie's still awake, by the way." Jane informed as she closed the magazine and moved it off to the side. Robin knew it was really late at night, so her eyebrows furrowed with confusion. "Seriously? Still?"

"He refused to go to sleep without making sure you came home." Jane explained as she gave Robin a knowing look. It was very obvious to Jane, what with all the time she spends with Charlie, that he was really missing Robin. She works constantly so that the two of them could have a better life than Robin did, but it meant that Charlie was by himself a lot. He knew that Robin was just trying to take care of him, but both wished that they could spend a little time together.

"I'll go see him." Robin spoke with a quiet tone, feeling bad that she kept Charlie up that late. She walked down the hall and knocked on the boy's door that was decorated with astronaut and superhero stickers.
