Y/N awoke to a knock on the door to her dormitory. She yawned while stepping out of bed and rubbing her eyes. Upon opening the door stood Draco, dressed in his robes for the day. He had a box in one arm and a book under his arm. "Good morning. I brought you breakfast since you weren't awake when I went down." Y/N nodded to him in acceptance and grabbed her quill and parchment. As soon as Y/N had finished eating, she put on her daily robes and followed Draco into the main section of the common room. "We still have 30 minutes until our first class." Y/N nodded at Draco's statement and she sat down on the sofa next to the fireplace. Draco plopped himself down on the floor next to her and opened the book. The pages were crisp, as if fresh out of the printing press. The gold letters sparkled from between the folds of the paper. Y/N watched him and tilted her head. "What's that?" Draco handed her the book and pointed to a page. "They're basic spells, I picked it up on a whim. I didn't expect to read it. You can take it if you want Y/N." Draco explained. She stared at the open book in her hands and realized it was something he would read instead of studying. She flipped through the pages to see different words written on each page. Spells were used throughout the book; both positive and negative ones. The unforgivable curses caught her eye. She continued reading about them curious as to why the name of the spells wasn't in the book itself. It was as if they removed the name but left all the details. Some spells included names, dates, places, and phrases. Y/N looked a bit confused and turned the book to Draco. "Why is it that only these 3 spells don't contain their name but have descriptions?" Draco looked at her confused. "If they didn't include the names because it might be a source of security, wouldn't those be dangerous to teach to kids, knowing that information I guess?" Y/N shook her head. "That makes no sense. Just don't put it in the book then."

After a while, the two make their way toward their first class, Potions. Upon entering the classroom Y/N walks up to her father and shows off her tie along with her green-colored robes. He patted her head gently before class started. Draco and Y/N took a seat in the middle rows and watched as the other students made their way into the classroom. Y/N watched as the trio walked into the class and took their seats. She frowned a little, just enough for Severus to notice and take note.

"There will be no foolish wand-waving or silly incantations in this class. As such, I don't expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art that is potion-making. However, for those select few..." Severus paused looking at Draco and Y/N, gaining a smile from Draco. "Who possesses the predisposition, I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper... in death." Severus sees Harry writing down what Snape had been saying, not paying attention. "Then again, maybe some of you have come to Hogwarts in possession of abilities so formidable that you feel confident enough to not...pay...attention." Hermione nudges Harry, finally making him look up. Severus steps in front of Harry and speaks once more. "Mr. Potter. Our...new...celebrity. Tell me, what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?" Hermione's hand shoots up while Harry shrugs. "You don't know? Well, let's try again. Where, Mr. Potter, would you look if I asked you to find me a bezoar?" Hermione's hand shoots up once more. Harry speaks softly "I don't know sir." Severus speaks up quickly after. "Pity. Clearly, fame isn't everything..." Draco smirks and nudges Y/N as they let out some small giggles watching Harry struggle over his words. Harry looks over at them, mostly Y/N, and looks hurt and offended. Severus continues. "is it, Mr. Potter?"

Y/N and Draco sat in the great hall together during study hall doing their homework. "Hey, Draco did you understand this part in transfiguration?" Y/N pushed at Draco's shoulder with her elbow, reminding him of their homework assignment. "Sorry, I didn't start it." He answered simply. He stopped taking notes and looked over at her book, leaning close to her reading off of her book. "So it looks like right here, usually, a wizard or witch attempting to perform a Transfiguration spell would often find it easier to transfigure one thing into something else provided that the state it was originally in had something in common with what it would be converted into. Sorta like a statue of a dragon turning into an actual dragon, although it would be the same size as it was when it was a statue." Draco leaned back a little and started putting his notes in order. Y/N tilted her head in confusion. "Huh weird." Y/N started finishing her homework and yawned softly. "Tired?" Draco asked and yawned as well. He set down his quill and stood up. "Yeah. It's going to take me a while to get used to the dormitory. What's our next class now?" Draco opened a folded piece of paper, reading it intensely. "Um. flying class it looks like." Y/N looked up at him with wide eyes. "Really?" Draco nodded his head as he packed up his stuff and pulled out his tie. "Are you excited?" Draco shrugged nonchalantly and kept packing. Y/N stood up and grabbed her bag after just stuffing everything into it and grabbed Draco's hand before pulling him.
