The next morning Y/N walked to the great hall alone to get some breakfast before class. She took a seat and took out some books she needed to go over to study. "Mind if I sit?" Y/N turned to see Draco standing there with a small smile. Y/N nodded shyly. He placed himself right beside her and looked into her eyes. "My ears are still in shock from being lectured yesterday by my father." Draco picked up an apple and took a small bite. "About the troll yesterday? What even happened?" Y/N sighed and rested her head in her hands. "Hermione lied and took the blame as if she went out trying to find it. You hear what Ron said to her yesterday. She was crying her eyes out." Draco leaned back, taking another small bite. "That poor girl. Is she alright?" Y/N looks up and frowned at him. "I told her I'd study with her today and she didn't show." Y/N looked disappointed. Draco looked pissed off and spoke again. "Well forget them Y/N. They only want to talk to you when they need something." Y/N nodded in agreement and smiled at Draco. "Thanks." Y/N leans forward and grabs the apples while Draco pulls out his quill and writes. Y/N munches on her food and watches Draco write. He made notes in her book, underlining important work she should be going over. "There, that should help. I did the homework last night." He pushed the book towards Y/N.

When classes began they both took seats near each other. They went through the new material quickly. As they were reviewing some potion recipes Y/N wondered why her notes had small doodles on the margins. She grinned at the thought of Draco Malfoy doodling in her notes. When they finished their potions essay Y/N went to her table to gather her stuff together to leave. There, she felt a strange presence. Looking up, Y/N saw Professor Snape. "Hello, Father." Severus looked down at her and handed her a graded essay with an E+ written in red ink at the top. "Nice work Y/N." Her father turned and proceeded to hand back other graded essays to other students. Y/N held up her essay to Draco with a smile. Draco put his thumbs up while he continued packing up.

After classes were over, the two walked to the quidditch field getting ready to watch the game. Y/N noticed the Slytherin team already warming up. There was quite a crowd gathering around the team cheering and hollering. The referees waved the teams over to the pitch. On the opposite side of the pitch, the Gryffindor team is running laps. When everyone reached the pitch the two teams lined up opposite each other with the ball on the center line. The two teams blew the whistle simultaneously, sending the catchers on the offensive team to throw the ball. Y/N was watching the game when she nudged Draco. "Is that Potter..?" Draco looked to where Y/N had pointed and looked aggravated. "How did he get onto the team as a first-year?" Y/N looked just as confused and crossed her arms. I would've tried it out if I knew that. Draco turned to her. "You play quidditch?" Y/N shrugged "I used to. For fun, not to compete. So I think it'll be fun." The Slytherins begin tossing the ball between the three main players. One player threw it to the next and they flew to opposite ends of the field, trying to score on Gryffindor. It was not an easy feat because it seemed like the snitch was making its best effort to not get caught. Y/N watched, amazed, as both of the opposing teams scored within minutes. Y/N grabbed Draco's hand as a reflex when Gryffindor scored. They looked at each other and a hint of blush filled their faces. Y/N let go of his hand and apologized softly. "Sorry, Y/N," Draco says quietly. The two snickered at themselves and continued watching the game before seeing Harry's broom go crazy.

After the commotion, Harry rams the Slytherin Seeker, then is butted out. He returns, smashing the Seeker again as the Snitch dives. The boys follow, but they approach the ground quickly. The Slytherin Seeker backs out, and Harry pulls up his broom as he follows the Snitch, feet above the ground. Harry stands up, and steps forward, trying to grab the ball. He goes too far, and topples off the broom with a yelp, tumbling on the ground. He gets up and lurches and the Snitch pops out of his mouth. It lands in his hands. "He's got the Snitch! Harry Potter receives 150 points for catching the Snitch!" Madam Hooch blew the whistle and spoke out. "Gryffindor wins!" Y/N and Draco let out a defeated sigh and look at each other before they start laughing.
