It Was All a Lie

I was told there was a chosen day
When my face would be wide awake
And my head tilted
And leaning on yours once again
Hands holding, shoulders touching

On that day, I got ready for paradise
I knew I'd finally see my happiness
And see my happiness as mine
Unlike the past weeks all designed
For you and your mind

Until it was all a lie

I have lied to myself
Made a reality out of a fantasy
Knowing logic still applied
But hoping stubbornness would thrive
I'm still here as it was all a lie
