Here is advice from someone with gerascophobia, the fear of growing old. You are going to be 16 years old for 365 days and you could die at seventeen. When your mom asks if you want to sleep in her bed, always say yes. One day she will be in the hospital bed where there won't be enough room to make up for right now. Stop canceling plans, go out while you still can, you aren't guaranteed anything so please stop denying affection. You will never be able to love as a teenager at 35. Many someone's, are going to tell you that they love you, don't keep quiet because you have been told that it's too soon. If you love someone just say it, be brutally honest. Go out and change the world, fight for peace and equality that we all deserve because I guarantee that when you're 70 and you can only watch the news all day, you are not going to want to see the same issues that are still going on when you had every opportunity to fight for change. Stop saying "I don't need nobody" and "I don't have feelings" attitudes. It's so much easier to make friends in high school than in a nursing home. Embrace the feelings and the intimacy, don't apologize for caring and never let anyone make you feel guilty for showing kindness even if it's one-sided. You are a teenager for only 2,555 days and then you turn 20. Life never stops and it definitely never slows down, bones will become fragile, and hearts will become weaker, with every atom in your body I encourage you to live in the moment right now
