I had been sitting on the edge of the bed, naked in a strangers apartment for what felt like hours. The birds chirping outside snapped me out of my blank stare. I quickly jumped up and searched for some clothes to put on. I was trying to hurry before the older gentleman came home. Though I harbor feelings for unspoken no's I am grateful he let me in his door.

He let me detox for a few days. I was a young female about to hit her thirties in search of a new start. I put on some boxers, rolled them up, and put on a plain black mens tshirt. My arm had scabs still healing from picking, no, digging is more like it, into my own skin. My sandals were right by the door.

Living life, growing up, with a deceased mother can be troubling sometimes. Extremely depressing adolescence I had for sure. I threw my shoulder length, black hair into a bun quickly. I had no plan, no friends, no agenda to give me any sort of hope. As I walked down the stairs I heard someone bumping music.

A black Jaguar pulled up and the passenger window rolled down. The driver had tattoos all over his face, and looked pretty young but close to my age. His hair was curly and short. The passenger was a dude with a smoothe surfer style. He was cute. They both were. The tattoos just erked me, sin sin sin was all I could think about in reference to them.

"Do you want to go to Holbrook with us?" The passenger asked. I had a bad habit of saying yes to almost any and everything, plus I had a good feeling about this adventure I was about to embark on. "Yeah, thank you. You have no idea how relieved I am." I replied with gratitude.

I got in the back seat where there was a third passenger. He only had a couple tattoos on his face. He was a light skinned black dude with cute curly hair. It was dyed blonde. I introduced myself once I put my seatbelt on. "I'm Sierra by the way." I placed my hand on my chin. The driver replied "I'm Kimetrius, this is Landon and the guy next to you is my brother Kamrin." I nodded my head and smiled. He turned the music back up.

My heart was fluttering. I had listened to their music and it felt like God answered my prayers. Finally people like me, I hope anyways. I thought to myself. We pulled up to 219. West Iowa St., tears of joy filled my eyes.

The four of us got out of the car and went inside. The living room was made into my room, and they each got a room of their own.  It was nice inside now, free of rodents, and creepy crawlers. "Hey! Can one of you please sleep with me? I'm kind of scared in here alone." Kimetrius came into the living room quickly and held me close. I fell asleep easily, and comfortably.

The next morning when we got up, we all got showered and dressed. Kimetrius gave me $100,000 and the three gave me their phone numbers then they left. The basement was made into a studio, I was relieved. It was where my two Hopi friends and I would do math problems together from my older sister Jessica's math book.
